Travelodge by Wyndham Golden-Denver

Air conditioning broke, I was told to get a different room they had to cancel reservation and id lose thst money. And wanted 200 more to get different room. Now I see they return only 12 dollars of my 100 deposit. Ive never not gotten my deposit. Because I respect gheyre property

Room smelled like strong cleaner. Employee parking in front of room with a really loud vehicle. Inside lock was broken.

No breakfast. Multiple emails asking me to check in and out online ‘to save time’ but then still had to do all the paperwork on arrival. Online info entered (eg expected arrival time) only useful for hotel, and no benefit to me in doing this ahead of time

It's dated. I've stayed at this location many years ago and a remodel or update is definitely needed.

The elevator was out, but luckily I didn't need it ( usually I have a kid in a w/c with me)

When we arrived, the girl at the desk was presumably new. That happens, we all start some time, but the woman in front of us had pre-reserved and was being told they needed to go look for an available room and see if it was clean. That didn't inspire confidence that we would have a place to stay.
When we got to our room, it was in desperate need of renovation. The built up grime and general age of the room was so cringy. If we had a need for a second night in Golden, I absolutely would have moved.

The bathroom was horrible. It smelled very strong of urine and there was hardly any water pressure in the shower, and the shower hot water was only lukewarm. But mostly the smell in the bathroom was really bad.

The first standard room we were given had the deadbolt ripped out of the door. Naturally we requested a new room, but we were already on our way out for an event. When we arrived back at around midnight, we informed the night manager we were needing a replacement room. He had no idea we had already requested one. This is when he informs us there would be no breakfast in the morning since this la Quinta was being acquired. The second room he gives us, somehow, also has it's deadbolt ripped out of the door, however this one wasn't just sitting on the counter, it was missing completely. We, *again* request a room *with* a deadbolt. This man, attempts to assign us OUR ORIGINAL ROOM WE LEFT IN THE FIRST PLACE. We manage to get him up to speed on the situation, *again*, and he manages to find us our 3rd and final room that manages to have a deadbolt still attached to the door, our one and only request. Besides that, the hotel was in general disrepair, the bathtubs in all of them were very sus, and ultimately this became one of the most frustrating stays I've ever had the displeasure of having.

Fully dirty bed (that was made to look clean) dog piss all over carpet (still wet that’s how I noticed it aside for the smell) manager nowhere to be found. Disgusting foul and having to fight to get a refund still PLEASE DONT STAY HERE. If you need a cheap place you would be better off on the street

Most staff were unfriendly

First room was dirty, shower had been used, dirty towels piled on the toilet, garbage in the waste cans. No free breakfast as stated in my confirmation. Water in second room barely warm in the shower. I did call the desk for them to make a notation. No water at all on Sunday to take a shower to go to the service for my aunt.
