We stayed here 7/7 to 7/9 in room 254 where the paint is peeling in many locations and the overall quality of the room is extremely poor. The room should not be in service and it clearly needs attention. Either housekeeping, maintenance or hotel leadership is asleep at the wheel. I spoke to the front desk and asked for a rate adjustment due to the condition of the room but she was brand new and had no authority to do so. I asked for the name of the hotel GM, she could only give me his first name "Drew" and could not find his email address. He didn't arrive until 10am and unfortunately, we were out all day so I could not speak to Drew directly. Tried calling today to speak to Drew and 2x the hotel front desk answered and immediately said "please hold" only to leave me on the phone and never pick up my call. My next step will be to call Marriott Corp and advise them this hotel is not meeting standards with respect to room quality. If Drew happens to see this review, I believe you have my email address and can contact me directly. I am 99.9% that Drew would not put his family in room 254. My recommendation to travelers reading this review: stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, Thurber St, Warwick. Stay away from this Fairfield- they are charging way too much $$ for rooms that are in desperate need of TLC.
We checked in and the room was not very clean. Evidently Marriott just took over this location and renovated some stuff, but essentially put lipstick on a pig.
When we try to go to sleep there was an intermittent noise in the room and my husband went downstairs to get our room switched. They said they had no other rooms then, miraculously the front desk was able to find another room on the same floor, which was a handicap room. That room wasn’t clean either the drapes were broken and hanging. The shower curtain too long and dirty. Our room was never cleaned by housekeeping-for our three day visit. The floors constantly felt wet and damp, and our socks were getting wet. The air-conditioning did not work appropriately and we told the front desk twice and they told us both times maintenance wasn’t in. Overall this experience was awful and Marriott should be ashamed that their branding is on this facility. We would’ve left however there are no rooms currently in Rhode Island. There were many sports events and soccer events throughout the state so we really had no choice but to stay and thank God it was only three days.
I didn’t take any pictures cause I’m embarrassed that I even stayed in such a subpar facility we thought it would be good because Marriott just took it over and they allegedly renovated but again that was like putting lipstick on a pig!
Location is good
It’s not up to the Marriot standards. The ac unit was closed to the bed, cold air directly hitting you. The breakfast was also so so.
Close to airport
Nothing.
Breakfast was ok
Small room and noisy. Our window was next to the airport.
Everything
Close to airport
The initial staff stared at their screen, did not engage in eye contact and , along manager, as skeptical that the outside door was NOT locked as poster ( I was right by this door)
They did move me at my insistence . It was STILL unlocked the next morning
Shuttle to airory
Charged us twice. Initial payment made thru this site. Hotel charged ab additional &250 for no reason
Close to airport and restaurants
Good customer service
Everything good
Despite location which is why there are 2 stars as it is adjacent to the airport and easily walkable, this place is a struggle to stay in. They have renovated more rooms since we last stayed here but still SO many issues. Some of the staff are pleasant. The artificial perfumes used to cover up 'who knows what' in the hallways, nearly takes your breath away. The room, on the other hand was overpowering with dirty, chloramine smell from over used chlorine products in the bathroom. The windows do not open so we hit the AC on and the fan and left for a meal. A very dark room due to poor lighting. The bed, though new, was covered with a queen size flat mattress pad which did not cover the mattress--yuck! The king fitted sheet did not tuck under the sides of the mattress making wrinkles and exposure to something I do not wish to touch unless it is my own. The rooms are minuscule as well and poorly designed for luggage. Not a desirable stay.
Breakfast was ok
They gave me the wrong room. It was someone else’s they then wanted to charge me full price for the room again insisting I did not pay and was not charged when your email clearly paid in full. They asked me to show them my bank statement to prove payment as if I was lying and the email I had from you was not sufficient proof.
Convenient to airport. We had a 7am departure.
There was a mixup on our booking. I booked thru booking.com, and I handed the receptionist my paperwork, but was charged again a higher rate for our stay. I'm still trying to get the Fairfield stay credited back, since I had already paid once.
We have an uber food delivery that was stolen from outside our door. Needless to say the staff was anything but helpful
Great wifi. Bed and nice sheets wonderful. Awesome shower great water pressure
