So, initially the front desk person at check-in was positive so it left me with a good feeling for a potential for a "diamond in the rough" type-a-deal. Man was I wrong... dark, dingy, old, decrepit & deteriorating accommodations is the only way to describe this place. I booked this through my credit card company to get travel points, but I'm actually going to call them and advise that they not market this place on their website anymore as the pictures via the website are sadly misleading as well as not being able to cancel remaining nights because of the "cancelation policy". No bottles of lotion, shampoo or shower gel... just one packet of conditioning shampoo and 2 mini bars of hand soap (I'm staying for 4 nights... sure I could ask for more, but le'me finish...). With no "privacy please" or "no service" signs on the interior of the room I figured they'd just come in, refresh the bed, towels and leave more shampoo/soap since they don't have bottles... nope... nothin'. 2 days in a row... nothin'. Now, usually one can call the hotel customer service number and they'll be sympathetic to your situation even if you're staying under a reservation that doesn't allow cancelations, but Wyndham, LA Quinta and Expedia... all 3 of which I'll never be using again on purpose, stuck to their policy. I understand they have a right to, and that's fine... gave me 3 more horrid nights to gather these pics and video as evidence and for the 405 freeway to sing me sweet lullabies before bedtime. I'll be leaving the same review via Google, Trip Advisor and any other place I can sign up for. I would've left it alone if they just let me get out of the rest of the reservation, but since I'm payin' and stayin'... I'm slayin'.
ROACHES, ROACHES, ROACHES. I feel like they are in the bed. Pretty sure bed bugs are. Gross, old, tired at edge of loud fwy. I parked in an empty lot way off to the side with my U-Haul trailer he said I was fine there then he gave me a room that felt like it was a quarter mile walk in the opposite direction of my vehicle. He was not able to give me a closer room in a hotel that was at about 50 % occupancy at most (judging from the parking lot) because I bought it on Priceline and that's what I get. I was so grossed out by all the mold and rust in the bathroom but then things got better when my friend Mr COCKRACH came around. Next morning while brushing my teeth a Roach comes out from behind bathroom mirror. Turned my water cup upside down to prevent it from crawling in. I trusted the “La Quinta” name but it is not as it was 20 years ago. Clearly, they license their name and do zero inspecting of the properties.
Stayed in the newly renovated rooms in front of pool. The decor was really modern and the beds brand new with built in lights underneath. The management is really nice. The one thing I will say is the maid service needs improvement but La Quinta is changing for the better. Revisit La Quinta ask for one of the new rooms. 🤗
The site is difficult to find for someone out of state - GPS does not take you the most convenient way and the hotel is hidden behind an office building and next to an abandoned Hooters.
As for the stay itself, it was less than desirable. The linens were stained. The keycard reader was faulty. Felt unsafe outside my room. Breakfast options are pitiful. The whole property seemed dirty and in shambles. From the pictures I saw online, I just wasn’t expecting such terrible conditions.
I would recommend spending not much more to stay somewhere that is easier to access and I’m sure is better kept.
Lights didn’t turn on there were stains on the bed and the door did t close properly we couldn’t stay the night and ended up booking a new hotel
Desk member Sal was amazing!!!! Great customer service and very friendly!!!!! He’s a Superstar!!!
This is the worse place I’ve ever stayed. Room was filthy. Toilet had pee in it from previous guest and the shower wasn’t cleaned at all. They’re running an extension cord from one end of the room to the other to power a lap which created a tripping hazard.
They Ran out of king beds even though that’s what I had already reserved, that’s fine then we get put in a double full bed ugh okay.
Black mold on the ceiling above the entrance in the room.
The smell was horrible but it was already too late and we needed a place to sleep.
During the night my boyfriend and I had the worst coughing issues. I’m allergic to mold so it was terrible
Gray sheets, loud ac, musty smelling. Tv and guide didnt line up..probably a dish problem or in need of reboot. Towels subpar
The phone and the doorknob in the room were broken. The staff had no idea what was going on. I guess you get what you pay for — the price for this hotel is very cheap.
We walked out upon checking in.
The room i initially got was dirty, smelled like cigarettes, everything was old and broken. I went back to the front desk and asked for a different room. It was better but i had to pay an upgrade fee. The room was better but the floor was dirty as if it had not been mopped. My kids took their socks off and walked aroubd the room and thier feet was full of dirt. I never got a wifi info. Breakfast?! They only had waffles and danish. Nothing else. I wouldn't say thats breakfast. Disappointed in this facility.
On September 30, 2025 around 6:30PM a fentynal addict tried to break into my room while I was in it with my family. I yelled for him to go away and it took 5 minutes for him to leave and give up. Found him trying to get into another room later when we were escaping from the motel as we checked out within 10 minutes of that incident and demanded a refund which we never received even though they said they we’re going to refund me several times over the past week as I call daily to get my refund. They still have not refunded me. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST, I DO NOT TRUST THE STAFF or THE AREA. I LEARNED MY LISTEN and WILL NEVER STAY AT A LA QUINTA COSTA MESA/NEWPORT BEACH Again!
In hotels usually they have breakfast. But yours didn’t.
And that is a big minus.
Tub did not drain well. No hot water from sink faucet.
Didn’t even stay here because when I opened the door the first thing I saw was cockroaches
Absolutely disgusting inside and out! Ended up just booking a room elsewhere and wasting 300$
The whole hotel is dated. The vanity was broken, the bath tub was flimsy and about to break, the batch tub was clogged and the water was reversing. The bath tub area had a lot of mold.
Do not book this hotel at all cost! It’s filthy and infected with cockroaches and bedbugs!!!
The staff was very helpful and allowed us to check in early as they had 1 room that was cleaned. They do charge $25.00 per hour before 3:00 check in. The exterior of this property is old and not at all what I expected from staying at other hotel and resorts that carry the Wyndham name. The one room we were given was disappointing. The bed sheets were clean but the bed spreads were not. The
Floors had not been swept or mopped, from the last guests. There was gum stuck on the floor that was so hard you would need a razor blade to scrape it. The room had this smell that was so bad we had to air it out before settling in. If it wasn't for the early chec in we would have left.
