We stayed for a couple of nights and enjoyed our stay at the Kingsgate. It's an older building but well maintained. It's located at really handy and quite central, which allowed us to leave the car parked and enjoy the shops, restaurants and sights by foot. The personal at reception (particularly Seena) and the breakfast team were outstanding.
Great central location, allowing us to do shopping, have dinner out, do sightseeing all by foot. The staff both at reception and at the breakfast restaurant are fantastic, friendly and helpful.
Just a little detail: The shower was over the bath
Location
Never got to stay even though bookings were made no communication with me regarding these bookings and didn't let me wait to charge my phone said there was no bed available and didn't look on computer system even though I could see beds available
Walking distance to centre. Old building but clean & comfortable
Parking
Location is very central , Room is ok. Bed is good
the breakfast is an absolute disaster. They even charge for a coffee.
It is a great location.
It’s very handy to everything we needed in Dunedin.
Great location with easy access.
Updated and very clean.
Everything went well.
The old lift was a bit slow.
Staff were pleasant & helpful. Continental breakfast was simple but appreciated & set us up for the day.
Dated decor very noisy ( aware in city) no sound proofing. Shower pressure not great.
Was all good , location great , breakfast ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Standout staff member was POMARE .P👍😁
Nothing
Welcoming staff, comfort of the room.
Very dated I was in Dunedin for a nurology appointment at the hospital I wanted a one stop hotel that had a bar restaurant so with limited mobility I didn’t have to go anywhere, no where on your website or booking.com does it say restaurant and bar closed,
Can’t blame you but I was also led to believe that (Ai) hotel was a flat 600 metre walk to Dunedin Hospital mmmm…. No so in summary over priced hotel limited ammenities location poor.
If your mobility is compromised this is not the hotel for you not sure if a wheelchair would fit in lift single lift.
Position close to town
Continental breakfast was nothing like Continental.
Tinned fruit. Long life juice. Thin bread for toast. Cereal. Terrible coffee.
Bedroom walls paper thin as we could hear next door and their conversation and tv
