Comfy, close short stay place.
Pros:

The breakfast was great. Yes the cheese scones were yum and the coffee. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was super comfy and excellent proximity to Dunedin centre.

Cons:

The bathrooms were a bit run down as is the building, but everything was clean.

Cons:

Staff more concerned with getting payment for carpark than anything else. . didn't make it clear that breakfast room closed at 9am. There was no info about this in the room. We missed out on our breakfast as we went down at 9am. I think that is Too early to close restaurant. This meant we had to go and buy breakfast elsewhere, making our room quite expensive as we'd booked it expecting a breakfast.

Pros:

Room was ok. Small issue with the TV getting it turned on and no instructions etc.
Hotel is well situated in town and easy to get to and from

Cons:

Cleaning facilities in bathroom could have been way better. The soap for the shower was so watered down that it couldn't stay in your hand on on a doofer. Very different to the hand basin, as this was great

Disappointed
Pros:

While the staff at the front desk were very pleasant and attentive, this hotel is not one I would be choosing to stay in again. The room must have been one of the oldest in the building, had no overhead lights- instead just one bedside light for the main room. There was a second lamp in the corner that was not plugged in, but this was broken, and even when reported was not fixed. Every day we had to asknfor more towels, as even though they knew there was 3 of us staying (myself and 2 teens) we were only ever given 2 towels. It was never a problem to be given the towels by the front desk, but was frustrating to be a repeat issue. Initially the TV did not work either, but they fixed that. There is no air conditioning, the room is either freezing or overheating. The shower has little pressure, and most of the water angles out of the bath. We had breakfast included, and it had to be the most limited breakfast buffet at a hotel. We were there 5 nights, there was no variation to Luke warm baked beans, soggy hash browns, limp bacon and overcooked sausages, with three cereal options (weetbix, cornflakes, musli) there were no pastries, croissants or muffins typical in other hotels. Again, staff were friendly. This was a treat for me and my girls, and unfortunately a disappointing experience that did not match the expectations from website.
