Singular Joy Downtown Residences

We liked it.

The room was pretty small but very close to all the major shopping areas. Everything was so close by. There are clubs close by and the music is pretty loud which to me it wasnt much of a problem since I knocked out quick. The only issue was the AC, the room was pretty hot and Ac didnt cool enough.

The property was decent inside. The tile floors were nice, also the rooms and bathrooms were acceptable. The pool area was nice with the bar. I was impressed when the staff got right on cleaning a leaking water heater in the hallway and the elevator.

I could hear the faint noise of the clubs at night down the street, but it wasn't loud enought for me to not fall asleep. I was on the side of the building closest to Mandala night club.

Just Okay – Probably Wouldn’t Stay Again

This was actually our second time trying this hotel. I was traveling with my teenage son, and while the building is in good shape and the room was spacious enough for both of us, there were definitely some drawbacks.

The basics were covered: a comfortable bed, decent shower (though the water pressure was just okay), toiletries, fridge, Wi-Fi, and TVs—but no cable. One big issue was the AC in our first room—it couldn’t keep the space cool. We had to ask for a room change, which took a bit of back and forth—not ideal mid-trip.

There’s a coffee maker in the room, but oddly no coffee provided. They also only give one room key, and no extras were available. If you run into problems, you’re told to go through your booking site (Expedia, etc.), which made things more complicated.

The location is convenient—just a couple blocks from 5th Avenue and steps from a 7/11. However, it’s very close to bars and clubs, so the noise at night can be an issue. There was also ongoing construction outside, adding to the disruption. My son and I are heavy sleepers, so it didn’t ruin our trip, but light sleepers should be warned.

The highlight was the rooftop pool—great view of the Caribbean, and the bar prices were reasonable. We spent most of our days exploring Playa del Carmen and had an amazing time at Xel-Há (highly recommend!).

Overall, the stay was just okay. Not terrible, not great. With so many options in Playa, we’ll probably try somewhere else

Our room was not ready in time so we had to wait. The room was also hot at night and difficult to keep cool. Be aware that this property is near night clubs that are very noisy at night.

Its always a great stay, it is not a quiet property its more for the younger party crowds

One of the best place to reside and I would always come back here again love this place and very safe and right at the heart of everything around. The surprise is that once you are in your room it’s completely quiet

So this was a nice place to stay, and had a great patio and pool on the roof. It was centrally located which was both great and terrible. Great, until you go to bed and the nightclubs (next door) are still cranking out music at unbelievably loud levels. But on the second night, I just got some ocean white noise playing on my phone with a speaker (pretty loudly) and drowned out the nightclub and all was well.
On the bad side, we had a plumbing leak from what I guess was a leaky bathroom or water disaster above our apartment. There was ALOT of water dripping down (gallons!!!) that we had to empty a trash can a couple times. Then it went away for the second night.

Great location 1 street away from the ocean and from 5th Ave the main areas for shopping, nightlife, dinning and bus station.
Only downside was construction across the street and can hear the nightclubs music as it’s half a block away

Singular is one of my favorite brands in Playa Del Carmen and the only one I stay in including the beach property.
It is a nightlife club type street so there is music and fun every weekend until the early morning, rooms are always clean and the staff is amazing, pools and jacuzzi are beautiful and has an amazing view of the ocean.

Great place to stay, only it was super close to a club that plays music so loud all night. I mean all night!!

Very nice place to stay!!! Only thing, the receptionist can be alittle more welcoming and aware not stay glued to their phone. But the room very nice and comfy!

Enjoyed being close to the amenities, beach and ferry.

Excellent view

Amazing location! Very convenient and close to the main strip, local beach clubs, and great food. The staff was friendly, helpful and we got new towels every day. The room was a bit small, but there was natural light, hot water, and plenty of storage space. There is some noise from the clubs, but the air conditioner usually covers the noise well. The rooftop pool area is also clean and has great food/drinks at a reasonable price. Definitely the biggest highlight is the location and I would stay again!

Hotel shows nice (artificial) pictures online. Our unit was worn down, a bit dirty, very minimal kitchen utensils, no outdoor seating on our balcony. Housekeeping would only change out towels.
The pool area was fantastic, with an unbeatable view. The hot tub was usually Luke warm. The bar was ok - expensive.
Good location, just off 5th avenue. Walking distance to the ferry, Walmart, and a plethora of restaurants!

El peor alojamiento del que tenga recuerdo.
Estuve 19 noches en 3 habitaciones distintas.
La primera 9 noches, la cual fue una pesadilla para un viaje con un bebe de 8 meses.

No funcionaba el aire acondicionado, salia olor a excremento, lo cual di el aviso a los conserjes del hotel y ellos me ayudaron para que el famoso administrador apareciera.
Me movió a una habitación que no estaba adapatada para ir con bebes, ya queda habian muchas escaleras de por medio.
Luego de es noche, nos cambiaron a la tercera y definitiva.
Tuvismos nuevamente problemas con el aire acondicionado, lo cual al otro dia llego un tecnico a solucionar el problema.
La comunicación con el administrador fue horrible, nunca tuvo la disposición de ayudar, si no hubiera sido por la gente que trabaja en el hotel, seguimos durmiendo con olor a excremento.
Solo rescato la gente que trabaja en conserjería, Alejandra y los chicos de la noche.
