The wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Hilton Riverside hotel. I forgot it was Mardi Gras when I booked, but we still enjoyed a fantastic weekend.
We live three hours from New Orleans and frequently come for weekend visits. I enjoy using the Hilton Riverside Inn for the location when I want to be near the French Quarter, etc. the hotel is huge and has quite a bit of room for exploring.
I only am giving four stars because our city view was 70% the view of a parking lot/ top of a parking tower. I don’t think a room should be offered as a city view if it is basically a mechanical or non-interesting view.
My only other qualm is that you have to be ready to utilize the bellhops on all occasions (with your tips) because they don’t really let you hold the car at the curbside to be able to unload luggage or for one person to check in while the other stays with the car. They also do not loan out the luggage racks whether you’re coming or going. You are obligated to use a bell hop if you want to use a luggage cart. I don’t mind tipping /but I don’t appreciate being forced to wait in my room for a bellhop if I want to use a cart. Also, I found that 3 of the 8 total hotel employees that I interacted with were a bit brash which also makes me not want to rely on them. My check in host was very sweet though.
Super close to the port and loved you didn’t have to walk outside to get to it
Breakfast was a little pricey but guess that’s what you get for location and town your in
I met Hana T. with Hilton Grand Vacations here.
She was very pleasant and helpful. I enjoyed our interaction. Sadly my schedule only allowed for a brief conversation.
The staff is very friendly and helpful
Dasia W checked us in and what a pleasant patient kind person! She was so friendly she helped us check in early. She answered all my questions! Our room was great! I’m so happy we stayed here and would tell everyone if you come to New Orleans then come see Dasia W at the Hilton!
Thanks for caring Dasia! It made my day.
This was the conference hotel for the conference I attended. The hotel staff was friendly and attentive at check-in and throughout the stay. I had a room with two queen beds, and the bed was comfortable. I appreciated there were real pillows instead of the pillbox pillows so many lodging establishments use. The room has adequate lighting, but not good light for reading other than right by the beds. The desk chair would be more comfortable with arm rests. The other chair by the window is a bit low. The room was clean. The hotel and its restaurants have gone cashless. Parking charges of $50 for self-park $58 for valet seem high even for New Orleans. The hotel is a short walk from the French Quarter and on the streecar line. It is connected to the Riverside Outlets. I was pleased and would stay there again.
In January 2026 I booked a reservation at this hotel through booking.com. The booking included the regular room rate, taxes, and a surcharge for $87.57 (this fee is clearly listed as its own line item on the booking.com invoice and is clearly includes in the amount charged on my credit card). When I arrived at the hotel, I was charged the $87.57 surcharge a second time. I did not initially recognize this error as the gentleman at check in spoke poor english (and was “training” a new employee!!!) and now I am facing complete incompetency from Hilton in trying to reverse this fraudulent charge.
Brandon was very knowledgeable and helpful with offering pricing and assistance with other Hilton Hotel stays. He was Very friendly and passionate about helping others.
Heard plumbing all night. Seems everytime someone flushed, the pipes squeaked and groaned. All night and all day.
Getting to the self park parking garage from the hotel was a little confusing.
