Location is great; can walk nearly anywhere you'd like to visit.
Room was clean; although did not have a fridge. Had to request that one be sent to the room.
My wife and I had a nice stay. Rooms were ok. Staff was very friendly. There was not an in room refrigerator, however we requested one and they brought it promptly. The DeSoto is within walking distance to many of Savannah's bars, shops and restaurants.
Whenever we come to beautiful savannah, georgia, we always always stay at the Desota hotel. It's beautiful it's elegant just fabulous. We love scott, the bartender in that gorgeous bar. The restaurant has the best grits around. We have not stayed for dinner there yet. They're dog friendly very accommodating.I give them ten stars.
Great location, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, and very accommodating when flights were cancelled.
We were disappointed in our stay at the De Soto. And their brochures and Online they show a beautiful swimming pool and a nice fitness center but when we arrive, the pool was closed down and there was no water in it and the fitness centers and all the equipment was old.
The stay at the hotel was good. We had some modifications to our itinerary. So we had to check out early. I still Don’t know if I am completely satisfied, because I haven’t received my final statement.
The hotel was very accommodating and customer service was great. Big props to valet doing their jobs and doing the best the can during the rain when we left!
It is a lovely, centrally located hotel. I thought the valet parking (only way to access the garage) is too high at $48 per night. I was able to find street parking behind the hotel (through the ballroom/meeting room doors) and paid only for daylight hours. It's free from 5 pm to 8 am. But you have to get out there and pay your fee to park from 8 am or risk a fine,
I also thought my room needed a second beside lamp; there was only one. It does not have a mini refrigerator either, so if you need to keep something cold you have to use the ice bucket.
I had breakfast both days in the restaurant, which was nice and had reasonably priced food. Did not have dinner there.
The location is good for walking, finding restaurants, etc.
I look forward to staying at The Desoto every time I visit Savannah. It is a lovely hotel with beautiful views, nice amenities, and wonderful staff hospitality. Conveniently located within walking distance to the historic sites, bars, and restaurants of downtown, the hotel boasts a great coffee/ breakfast stop in the lobby, and an upscale bar and restaurant if you feel like staying in. There is an inviting pool and lounging area outside for enjoying the Savannah sunshine. Treat yourself by staying at The Desoto!
Love this hotel. Very nice room with comfortable bed and updated decor. Amazing bar and restaurant. Very convenient to restaurants/attractions and Forsyth park. Excellent staff - very friendly and accommodating. We will be back!
We had and great time the bar P&P was super nice had great drinks. Scott was so friendly. All the staff members were pleasant! Thank you for having us! :)
We thought the hotel was very nice upon arrival. The location was central to downtown, which made getting around very convenient. The room was clean and had everything we needed, although it did not include a mini fridge. The bed was very comfortable. The room and hallways were quite dark, and there was a strange odor in the hallway.
When we needed assistance, hotel management was easy to reach and very responsive. The towel rack in the bathroom broke, and maintenance came right away to fix it.
Our only real complaint was that the walls were very thin. We were woken up at 6:30 a.m. by a screaming child, which was disruptive.
Hotel is ok. Not great. Cassandra at the front desk and Charlie at valet were great with excellent customer service. Rooms themselves are cramped, old, and in severe need of updates. They are not cleaned well either. It took over an hour to place a one drink order at Provisions and the bartender was very unwelcoming. We wanted to use the gym but were disappointed at the lack of equipment and shocked at how dirty it was. Very gross. Also note there is no room service. We will not be staying at the property again. Highly recommend reserving elsewhere.
Very convenient, clean with a wonderful staff starting with Charles and his valet team at the front door, to concierge and front desk. All very friendly and helpful. TY
Location was great and the staff was friendly and helpful. Took a while to find the concierge but she was also helpful. We had a room with an adjoining door to another room which was not well insulated from noise so we were able to hear the conversation next door. However otherwise the room was well appointed and clean. We had a patio which would’ve been nice if the weather had cooperated. Beds were very high so a little leap was necessary to get on/in. But once in they were very comfortable. Plenty of differing softness pillows. The bathroom did not have grab bars in the bath which made it a little tricky to take a shower. Water pressure was great and the bath soaps, etc., were fragrant.
This is our second year hosting our conference at The Desoto. The staff is top notch! From the valet crew, front desk, to the barista! Always greeted with a smiling friendly face at the entrance! I look forward to returning next year.
Outstanding hotel, fantastic staff and service! Walking distance or a short uber to many locations.
Everything was perfect, the rooms, the staff was very pleasant. We will definitely stay here again in the near future. Hope to see you all soon!
Beautiful property with a friendly and attentive staff. We had a room with a balcony that provided breathtaking views of the bridge and church steeples along with all the historic buildings Savannah is famous for. The room was spacious and clean and the beds were heavenly.
The hotel was selected based on proximity to the Basilica - we were attending a baptism. The rooms are a little pricey but with a AAA discount it was about $220 base price. Taxes, late checkout adds about another $100. Valet parking overnight was $48. It is a dog friendly hotel which can be a problem if you are on a floor with an unhappy dog. One was barking for awhile until the hotel staff was able to contact the owner. It’s an older hotel so it does show wear and tear. The light cutting shade of our room could not be rolled up to check out the city skyline. No mini fridge in the room we stayed in. The safe in the closet had a door that wouldn’t stay closed. (I probably should have just locked it). The lower mattress covering was stained and had scuffs. I will say the sheets were great , nice towels. Bathroom is very small (once again an age issue ). For a single night stay, this hotel is fine. If I was planning a lengthy stay here because I wanted a spa resort type of stay, I would be disappointed.
