Bed
Hotel needs a good cleaning. Stair cases , Elevator cracks full of junk
comfortable beds
our room wasn't cleaned on Sunday
Heater
The new additions and look of the hotel remodel was nice.
The AC/ heater in the room did not work. Had to move rooms after checking in with no refund or discount for having to move rooms. The beds were also were uncomfortable and hard. Seemed like the beds were from old hotels that were discarded into the dumpster and were retrieved to use for this hotel.
I've stayed at this Fairfield Inn quite a few times, my husband has a Marriott rewards account so he tries to choose Marriott properties. Every time I stay I kind of wish that I would have tried another place. The good, is lower end of price range, and rooms, hallways and common areas are clean. The negatives, hard to turn into property if you are coming from the south, properties surrounding the property are well, not very picturesque., the parking lot is pretty rough, my room on the first floor had a sort of musty smell, not horrible, but noticeable, the breakfasts are not great, like no fresh fruit and they seem to run out of some things. The front desk staff are always polite and helpful. It is an ok place if you just want a place to stay for a night or so, but not if you want a special Santa Fe experience.
Employees where so kind and welcoming
It was near the historical sites and had good parking space.
The air freshener that was used in the elevator was a little strong and had a peculiar smell.
Don’t stay here — We’ve stayed at many Marriott hotels before, but this one doesn’t meet the usual Marriott standards. There is a Courtyard nearby as well as other hotels. We wished we had chosen one of them instead!
*The elevator was dirty and had a strong, unpleasant odor, and our room also smelled bad when we first arrived on the first day.
*The breakfast was not good, and the oat milk creamer tasted sour.
*The kitchen staff also didn’t seem to check or refill the food and drinks when they were running low.
*I also complained one time that the coffee was cold, and the front desk staff checked it and said it wasn’t. I know when coffee is cold — good thing there was a microwave available to heat it up.
*The hot tub and the business center computer are both out of order.
*The front desk staff I interacted with in the morning—or rather, the lack of interaction—was horrible.

Small detailing imperfections in room.
This reservation was a last-minute booking. We noticed the poor reviews, but chose to overlook them, assuming that a few mentions of rude staff wouldn’t outweigh a comfortable night’s rest. Unfortunately, our experience proved otherwise.
Please note that Marriott has various brands. It is important to note that Fairfield by Marriott is an economy to midscale hotel under the Marriott umbrella. This property does not reflect the traditional mid- to upscale Marriott experience we’ve come to expect.
This stay felt very much in line with a budget hotel—comparable to brands like Motel 6 or La Quinta. Thin walls made it easy to hear hallway conversations and even a neighbor snoring. The complimentary breakfast was basic and unremarkable, and the location and lack of secure parking added to the budget feel.
While the staff interactions and room cleanliness were acceptable, the overall atmosphere felt dated and in need of refreshment. The beds were moderately comfortable, but the experience overall was underwhelming.
If you’re seeking an economical stay and have modest expectations, this property may meet your needs. However, if you’re looking for the quality and ambiance traditionally associated with the Marriott name, this may not be the right fit. We are likely to choose another hotel brand for future stays.
The bed was very nice and the AC system was excellent.
Everything else other than the bed pretty much. Didn't get the room type that I reserved, hot tub was out of order, back door was locked shut in the morning which made checking out much more inconvenient, not to mention a fire escape hazard as well. And I paid way too much to enjoy all those benefits! Would have been better off at a cut rate motel where I expect these things.
I appreciated the dedication to the veterans throughout the hotel.
The ottomans needed replacement.
Hot tub was closed all week- we chose this hotel because they had a hot tub!
It was very quiet. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bed and bedding were clean and comfortable. The wall thermostat kept a constant temperature. Staff was very pleasant. Coffee was always available in the lobby.
It is hard to see from the road and I almost missed the turn in several times. There is only one elevator at the end of the property. Parking lot spaces weren’t well marked.
