Pros:

The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful on arrival. I got there close to midnight and was very tired, and they were helpful, upgraded me, and helped with the shuttle back to the airport early the next day.

Cons:

The rooms are a bit dated.

Check-in was quick and easy. Room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Good breakfast.

We visit family in Zurich and use Hilton for first and last night convenience As Diamond status almost always a nice upgrade but last night welcome was best yet Warm friendly from the heart not jut following corporate script Congratulations snd thanks for the nice room

Doesn't Feel Like a European Hilton
Pros:

We've stayed in a number of Hilton Hotels (as well as Hilton family hotels) jn Europe, and we have come to expect a standard of elegance well above most Hilton Hotels in the US. This hotel wasn't bad, but it didn't seem to measure up to our expectations.

We stayed there for six days in December. We were upgraded to a larger room with lots of space and a separate, jetted tub. The executive lounge was under renovation during our first few days, so we were provided with drink and half-price dinner coupons.

The hotel provides 24-hour transportation tickets good for busses, trains and boats. With a 14 Franc price, these were a very nice benefit.

The breakfast was reasonably good and well maintained, although it didn't have the luxury feel of other European Hiltons. Service was good. The dining room felt quite crowded. I don't have a suggestion as to correct this.

Our room, while large, felt old and simple. The sitting chair had a rip in the upholstery. It wasn't bad, and it was reasonably clean. We had a couple initial problems with bathroom lights and shower drain, and they reacted immediately.

Our second stay was for one night following a river cruise that ended in Basel. We were given a similar room. This time we tried the cheese fondue in the restaurant. A little pricey, but we recommend it. The small bread squares were excellent, and we scraped the bottom of the cheese, which was plenty large. Service was excellent.

We had an issue on our departure. The hotel hires an airport shuttle service that charges 5 francs per person and prefers users to scan a QR code prior to the ride. They depart every 30 minutes for the short ride to the airport. On our Feb departure, we arrived 3 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time (08:10) to find the shuttle had apparently departed early. When we told Reception, they called the shuttle and told us that it would return soon. It didn't. When they finally arrived (at the scheduled time) the driver said that there had been three shuttles at 0810 (if I heard him correctly). Lucky for us, the airport counter, security and passport control lines were quite short, so we made our flight on time, but we were lucky.

Bottom line? This hotel is okay and conveniently located. There are many very good employees. Food in the dining room and executive lounge are pretty good. But, if we were to return to Zurich, we wouldn't stay here again.
