The room deco and carpets a bit tired

Noise at night
The excellent location - just a couple of minutes from Queen Street station, George Square and the main shopping streets; the very friendly and helpful staff; the brilliant all-you-can-eat breakfast; the cleanliness, the cosy room.
The hotel, the staff tell us, is about to undergo a huge renovation programme - not surprising as the corridors especially look dated and tired. The view from our bedroom window was uninspiring - but that was a very minor issue!
All the staff members, from front desk to upstairs (custodians usually but could be maintenance too), were so friendly, approachable, and helpful, it really made my stay that much brighter from even before I set foot in the hotel. I had a dozen online shopping packages shipped to my room a week in advance, all on different days, so that I could pick them up when I arrive in the country. They were all received and placed in my room as my travel was delayed for a day <3 I felt bad having so many parcels, but the staff were super helpful and there was no sign of complaints at all.
They went above and beyond on everything else too - I was ill and asked the facial tissues to be refilled, and they gave me extra stock for both facial and toilet paper. This is noteworthy because I've had other hotels that say they will do it, and then you come back at night and see that they didn't do what they promised.
I love that the windows can be opened. My bathroom vent was weak, and they offered to open my window for a gap to vent. That was really helpful, as I would have assumed the window cannot be opened, and it took a lot of effort on my part to pull it.
All the corners and edges in the room and bathroom were very clean. The hotel looks unassuming and the room looks typical, but I was very comfortable here, especially given that I was a bit sick, had extra travel stress, and needed extra comfort. I would definitely stay again.
The bathroom ventilation could be better. It would also be more convenient if there's a hook to hang the towel on the back of the bathroom door. But these are tiny things. I just open the door to vent and hang my towel on the chair.
Great location and the room was perfect size for 2 people. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff were very friendly. Countless times staying in Glasgow and we’ll certainly start using this hotel as our regular!

Tiny rooms. Double room had just enough room for a double bed. Workspace with chair provided but not enough space to pull the chair out and sit at the desk and work. Had to remove the chair and sit on the bottom of the bed to reach the desk.
Great central locations lots of pubs and restaurants around and good for walking to all the sights of the city.
Room was clean and well presented and extra pillows left in the room is always a great thing!
