Excelente hotel, con localización céntrica , muy conveniente para explorar el cercano mercado de navidad
Nice hotel - clean and comfortable as you’d expect. Clearly there are more central hotels, so you’ll be using cabs quite a lot - although it’s walkable into the city centre.
The hotel is nice and quiet and the staff are attentive and very polite.
Breakfast is busy but there’s a wide range to eat.
My wife and I visited during Oktoberfest. As expected the hotel was very overpriced due to the fest. We were offered and paid for an upgrade to a club room via the Hilton app.
Our room really didn’t resemble an upgrade, although we had a nice view of the park and Alps in the distance. Our room was on the highest floor, with the exception of an event space above - which was in use one of the nights during our stay and was quite disruptive (we were given a 20% discount off of our room rate for that night). The front desk staff was reasonably helpful.
Unfortunately the lounge was substandard (breakfast was ok, but better in the main restaurant). Minimal snacks in the evening, quite small, and pretty overwhelmed with the fest.
The hotel is close to the park, which was great for our dogs. There is also ample free parking in addition to the hotel garage. Public Bus and taxi service makes it easy to get around town.
Recommendations:
Find free parking just past the hotel entrance.
Skip paying for the club room upgrade - particularly if you are Gold elite or higher.
Manage expectations - aside from its reasonable size, our room was what you would expect in an aging US airport location.
Consider paying more to be closer to downtown.
Our family just spent several nights here and had a wonderful stay from start to finish! Well-maintained property, nice guest rooms, and friendly and attentive staff. For families with children, I highly recommend booking the family interconnecting rooms. That was a great option for us both at this property and at the Hilton London Bankside. Also highly recommend booking a rate that includes breakfast, since the breakfast buffet is very nice (and because the hotel is in a quiet location near the English Garden that is not particularly close to many restaurants or bakeries). There is a taxi stand right outside of the hotel, which is very convenient. Hats off to the staff and management, and thanks for making our family trip to Munich a wonderful one!
Excellent service. I enjoyed my stay.
Thanks
The staff was amazing and the room was quiet, clean, big enough, comfy, and nice. The breakfast was well organized, delicious, with various options. Thank you.
Bathroom looks like a slum
Beautiful hotel in beaitiful surroundings
Hilton has a many different concepts and the quality of their hotels are not stable. Being a Diamond member, I stayed in an Executive room.
It was small, not new and just ok. Bathroom very small, curtains in the shower and did not feel clean.
Executive lounge was a joke. Overcrowded, food was poor, breakfast was poor (no eggs, no healthy options, no service).
Hotel is old and needs a complete upgrade.
On the positive side, staff is friendly and do their best.
I had zero luck with Hilton customer service and can’t find a way to contact this hotel directly.
I reserved two rooms this December for 3 nights. I booked this hotel in August because I knew the point redemption rates are better the earlier you book, as well as availability. I used points to book both rooms.
My group decided to extend our stay in London so we would be arriving in Munich a day later than we originally planned. I called Hilton customer service to let them handle this booking change. After being on the phone for a while, the customer service rep came back on and told me that actually the hotel was going to be closed for renovations starting December 15th (my stay started the 16th). I had no knowledge of this and had not received anything informing me the hotel would be closed during the time we were booked to stay there. I’m a designer/contractor and I know that renovations are planned well in advance. I should have been alerted months ago, or not even been able to book this property.
Of course, because it’s October and we’ll be staying in December, there was nothing comparable to my original accommodations. No availability at the other Hilton in Munich for the amount of points I was refunded, and nothing the size we need either.
Hilton customer service threw me a measly 10k points to make up for the inconvenience, which is a joke. This has been the worst experience I’ve had with the Hilton brand and now I’m sitting on a mountain of points and no desire to use them.
I don’t know who dropped the ball, but management had not alerted me as of last week that I didn’t have a place to stay in Munich, only when I called to modify my reservation did I find out. Now I’m scrambling to find a place for my party of 7 to stay that doesn’t cost a fortune. Extremely disappointed with this property’s complete failure in notifying their customers of a closure at one of the busiest times of the year.
Very nice in some ways, but subpar in others. Big drawback--extremely limited restaurant menu, despite advertising promoting it as showcasing a variety of Bavarian specialties. Big drawback--you cannot simply show an item at the front desk and ask to charge it to your room. Instead, you have to do self-service checkout, which is cumbersome and annoying, and not what I would expect at a sophisticated hotel. Big drawback--I took for granted that I could break large bills at the front desk, but was told they didn't have any small bills; I would have liked to leave a decent tip for housekeeping upon my departure, but instead could only dump some pocket change. Room issue: very steep tub poses a real danger getting in and out. Very limited counter space in the bathroom. Very limited closet space. Smaller drawback--constant malfunctioning of room key in the elevator. Smaller drawback--not responsive enough to small requests, such as, could I please have "real" coffee packets (not decaf); you have to pester to get them to follow up. Nice location by the English Garden, but all in all I would not stay here again.
Disconnected reception staff with poor attention to details.
I received paraplegic room with no reason.
When u called reception I was told to go down whack again with a heavy suitcase myself so they can issue new room for me wow what a Hilton so called 5 star service!
Recipients answered the phone yes? No name no good evening. He asked 3 times what is wrong with my room than he sad 2 minutes ok no apology no nothing!
While using the phone I found it extremely dirty.
Complete disaster to say the least!
Location was great, situated right next to the English Garden. However that made it a bit of a walk to the nearest U-Bahn station for access to other areas of Munich. Overall very nice hotel, reasonably priced.
bathroom facilities old, mold , my room would profit from a renovation.
Staff were not really forthcoming on check in ( declined 2 hour early check although rooms were available- I then remembered that I had a Hilton honours card and check in went ahead) , extra charge for bag drop while unable to check in. Given my hotel bill was over 3000 $ I would expect a little bit more. Breakfast buffet was good.
Room ok, bathroom very tired and in need of a refurbishment. Breakfast an additional €32 each yes €32 for a buffet not even any table service. No breakfast included for €384 a night stay.
Pool is tiny and has to be booked in advance. Sauna and steam room not even turned on until 4pm, saving electricity I guess, even reception don’t seem to know that.
Coffee €6 and a hotel shop that is off the charts expensive, disposable lighter €4.50 would cost €1 anywhere else. I understand this is a business but it felt like you were constantly being charged for something as they literally seem to have a charge for pretty much everything.
Great location for Oktoberfest. My room was comfortable with a great view. However, I encountered some issues during my stay. The phone in the room was not working, our key cards would work on and off, and my room was not equipped with robes or a laundry bag. When I notified the front desk staff they said they would send someone to fix the phone. It never happened. Because of the phone issue, I wasn’t able to get laundry service. The front desk staff didn’t even try to rectify the situation at all. I expected more, at least better service from such a highly regarded hotel brand.
My only complaint is that my stay was too short and I couldn't really enjoy the hotel more. Beautiful rooms, very clean and the staff was wonderful!
We will come back.
The hotel’s location was excellent, offering easy access to many key attractions such as CBD, City Centre, Tram, Stadium & making it a convenient choice for travellers. The food was typical of Bavarian cuisine, and the rooms were clean and well-maintained.
However, one downside was the lack of a staff’s friendliness. the reception staff were unhelpful and let me to wait for some hours to check-in it. This lack of accommodation for a guest with Australian culture like me.
Great staff
The property was as advertised.
