Staff was helpful and friendly
I was extremely upset by the rate hike for which I was not forwarned. I booked last June, with an acceptable rate. But the rate nearly tripled without warning. When I questioned it, I was told it was graduation weekend, and rates go up. I should have been informed.
Location was good. Liked Starbucks in lobby
The hotel is not very modern. The outside bar had potential to be great but was not open which was surprising as it was a busy weekend with a big concert in town. The inside bar was very boring. Overall it’s extremely overpriced especially compared to nearby hotels
The hotel main lobby and restaurant are very nice spaces. The rooms could be updated. Overall, decent stay. The staff was very nice at the front desk.
Centrally located. the coffee machine was broken
And did not work. Room service responded swiftly with a replacement of the machine.
When a guest can clearly show on their bank account that payment has already been deducted, the appropriate response is to trace the transaction—not to charge them again with a simple “it’s not reflected on our system.” Unfortunately, reception insisted that I pay a second time at check-in, resulting in a double charge.
I then spent weeks dealing with my bank in South Africa to reverse the duplicate transaction. This required additional back-and-forth with the hotel’s accounts department to obtain written confirmation that I did not owe any outstanding amount before the bank would process the reversal. It was a significant sum, which made the situation even more stressful.
In addition, the hotel attempted to charge us $40 per night for weekend parking, despite the fact that most public parking garages in the area are free until Monday at 07:00. This option was not disclosed to us. Fortunately, we explored alternatives ourselves and found free parking directly across from the hotel’s garage.
Overall, this experience reflected poorly on both the hotel’s billing processes and its transparency with guests.
They did not clean our room either, no fresh towels during our stay, no complimentary water (not even on arrival).
Comfortable
There wasn't a microwave in my room, there also wasn't warm water from the shower or a mat for drying off- I had to put a towel down. To my surprise, there wasn't a bathroom fan to turn on for the shower either.
My stay the week of April 20th, 2026 2 of the 3 elevators were not working on and off.
My room’s bed had stains on the side of the box spring cover.
This is an older property in a good location.
I made an error and booked a night at this Hilton for the wrong weekend. I called the day of check-in when I realized the error and the hotel refused to refund or credit the room rate to me, despite confirming that the hotel was nowhere near capacity that night. The hotel didn't miss out on being able to book the room to someone else, provided no service, and simply stole my $300. They easily could have returned it or credited it to the correct night. They chose not to.
Perfect location to downtown! Clean but basic, no frills.
Nothing other than it is basically a place to sleep
Pool wasn’t open even though it was warm!
The location of this property is truly its greatest asset, situated perfectly near Market Square with effortless access to the best downtown shops and sites. I must also extend my sincere compliments to David B.at the front desk; his professionalism was exemplary. He went well above and beyond to ensure my check-in was seamless—a bright spot in an otherwise underwhelming stay.
Unfortunately, the hotel itself is a relic of the late '90s. While "dilapidated" might be too harsh a word, the aesthetic is undeniably beyond its prime. For the premium rates charged, one expects a standard of luxury that the current wood-themed decor and cramped quarters simply do not meet. The bathroom ergonomics are particularly puzzling; the footprint is so restrictive that one must maneuver around the fixtures just to close the door.
Furthermore, the structural integrity regarding privacy is quite disappointing for a high-rise of this stature. The reliance on in-window AC units and poorly insulated doors—which allow a clear view into the hallway—is a significant oversight. Most taxing, however, is the lack of acoustic privacy. The walls are paper-thin, leaving no conversation, television program, or "intimate moment" to the imagination.
It is a curious paradox to stay in a place where you can hear every neighbor’s whisper, yet find security at your door with a "rude knock" should your own television volume dare to compete with the lack of soundproofing. This property has immense potential, but until it undergoes a comprehensive modern renovation, the lack of privacy and outdated amenities make it difficult to justify a return.
Pros:
Great location for downtown Knoxville.
Cons:
Only two elevators in service for such a big hotel.
Advertised rooftop pool but it was not available during our stay.
Stayed on the 15th floor and still heard a lot of noise from downtown.
Front desk staff was very rude, David in particular.
Parking is expensive. There is a parking garage across the street that is much more affordable.
Bathroom is TINY with barely any room to move around.
Marriott and the Tennessean down the street look like much better options.
check out was easy. Using the car valet was easy.
The woman who checked me in was very unfriendly. Had a frown on her face before I even said one word. She was in a foul mood and it wasn't because of anything I said or did.
I really loved the location of the hotel. We were touring UT, so it was a perfect distance between the campus and restaurants on Market Square and Gay St.
The room was nice and clean, and the staff was friendly.
Although I didn't go to the hotel restaurant, I liked that it was an option.
Nothing!
Came for the KA convention this weekend and was pleasantly surprised by the standard the Hilton has set. Went very smoothly from the start checking in especially the valet. Pulled up and was unloaded and checked in within 5 minutes thanks to Conner at valet. Restaurant was tentative serving us and one of the best burgers. Will stay here again!
The room was spacious and had an excellent view and the hotel is perfectly located. The bed was comfortable. I liked the bar area outside with a TV.
One day the room was not fully serviced. I had to ask for the tea/coffees to be replenished. Our neighbors were noisy on the last night, but this is not the fault of the hotel.
