My experience at this hotel was genuinely one of the worst I’ve ever had. The service and staff interactions were consistently unacceptable. The first room we were given looked nothing like the photos online the bathroom was foul, the ceiling had mould, the key card didn’t work, and neither did the TV. After paying the full amount plus a $100 bond at check-in, we were forced to upgrade because the room was uninhabitable, and were charged another $100 for the privilege. It only got worse at checkout. A staff member named Peter attempted to charge us an additional $339, insisting that the initial payment taken from my account was “pending,” despite the money already having left my bank. This left me almost $700 out of pocket with no explanation and absolutely none of this was disclosed at booking. Only after I questioned it repeatedly did he suddenly decide he could charge the original pending amount instead, something that clearly could have been done from the start.
The way I was spoken to throughout this ordeal was appalling. I was talked down to, spoken over the top of, and had a raised voice directed at me by a staff member who showed zero professionalism. After this entire experience, I can confidently say I would never stay here again and would strongly advise others to avoid it as well.
Location and facilities
Check-in registered wrong credit card
The room was too hot even with AC on
Close to everything room was clean
Bed was comfy and it is close to everything in the city.
Old and out dated rooms. Wires hanging out of lamps behind bed. No proper lighting (only lamp light in room). Using a power board because of the lack of power points. Mini bar had next to no alcoholic beverages. You were told no thing by a staff member, for another one to leave you standing around because they dont know whats going on. When you stay at the Hilton, you expect to be at the Hilton!
Location, room, swimming pool, breakfast, staff. Very happy with the stay.
Checking in took a long time. There was a queue that just didn't end. It took about 20 mins to check in. It was right at 3 pm.
The staff tried their best. There were just too many people at once.
Great service, great location
Getting a bit old.
Awesome staff, room fantastic, bed super comfortable, clean
Staff were professional, friendly and knowledgeable.
The room was well appointed but honestly a bit tired, could do with a lick of paint and a new carpet however, it was incredibly clean and the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever stayed in.
Our room had a wonderful view of Victoria Square, but was still quiet.
Breakfast was exceptional, wonderful range of hot and cold options, pastries, juice bar and most impressively a separate Gluten Free station, complete with contamination free toaster - again, the staff were welcoming and happy to accommodate any requests.
Overall, a great stay - wonderful hotel, facilities and staff.
The room is probably due for a remodel, it was a little tired, could do with painting and a new carpet.
Easily accessible. Very comfortable beds
Although the bathroom and rooms were very dated, we have a lovely stay. The bathroom, aircon controls and fridge are all pristine from the 70's, so it was kind of cool to enter a well-maintained time warp.
The bed was comfortable, staff were friendly and it had everything we needed. We booked this hotel as it offered a later check-out time, and it's in an amazing location.
Would have benefitted from an in-room coffee machine.
We tried to order room service for breakfast, however, the items we wanted were unavailable.
Clean, Modern and great location
