Very nice stay on the Palouse!
Pros:

I've stayed at the Hampton Inn in Pullman several times and each time I'm grateful for the experience. The hotel is clean and cozy, but it's more than just cleanliness. It's well maintained, inside and out. The staff are alos helpful and genuinely warm people who go the extra mile. I've stayed at many similar level hotels and this one is a cut above. I've even stayed at so-call higher level hotels and this one is on par or better than several of those. It's noticeable that the staff care about the property and the guest experience. Thank YOU, Hampton Inn. We'll definitely be back.

First time in Pullman
Pros:

The location was perfect and easy to find. The room was comfortable and it had a fan in the bedroom to help circulate the AC.

Cons:

Our room at first was directly over the pool. My husband asked at the front desk if we could get another room and they did move us, thankfully. The room over the pool smelled like chlorine and you could hear the people in the pool. So if you book this property request a room away from the pool.

Cons:

For a property whose rates were expensive as they were, the breakfast offerings were pretty poor.

Nice service with a confortable room.
Pros:

Close to the school. The little bar in the hotel was great. Great food, nice staff. The pool and hot tub were nice.

Cons:

The air conditioner was a little wonky so my room kept switching to hot and then cold and then hot again. The air conditioner never stayed on very long; kept shutting off.

Room, yes! Bar, no
Pros:

The room was very clean and quiet. The location was great. The front desk staff were very kind, friendly, respectful and informative. The breakfast was ok, very basic.

Cons:

The bar staff was rude and had a very abrasive demeanor towards myself and my guest. When other customers came in after us, they were greeted with a smile and conversation. They also received their drinks and food before us. It was very unfortunate to have been treated that way. I did speak with the front desk staff about it.

New hotel, great staff, some issues
Pros:

The hotel is very new and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. Check-in was quick, and we were given a nice room on the third floor.

A few things didn’t go so well. The hotel had a youth baseball team staying during our visit, and the players were not being well supervised by their parents. Kids were running through the halls and yelling fairly late into the evening while many of the parents gathered in the lobby.

There are a couple of things the hotel could do better in situations like this. First, they should block team rooms together in one section of the hotel, preferably on the first floor where the impact on other guests is minimized. Second, they should do a better job holding coaches, chaperones, and parents accountable for following clear rules and respecting quiet hours.

Our room also had an odd design. We booked a one-bedroom suite where the bedroom was separated from the living room by a barn door. The problem was that the bedroom didn’t have its own heating or cooling system. If we closed the door so our kids could sleep in the living room, there was no good way to keep the bedroom comfortable.

Hotels also need to move on from the barn door trend, especially for bathrooms. They offer very little privacy because of the large gaps around the door and do a poor job blocking noise.
