Holiday Inn Express Richmond - Midlothian Turnpike by IHG

The staff were very friendly and helpful, but I'm sorry to say that this is a worn out hotel. The room was clean, however it had a smell of maybe chemicals used to clean that burned my eyes and stuck to my clothes. The curtains had holes in them, the sink counter top had a big crack in it. The toilet was so low and small it looked like it came out of an elementary school. When I went to turn on the heat, it smelled like an animal had died inside, so we just left it off. The upholstered chairs in the breakfast area were all very stained and dirty looking. Only one elevator seemed to be working and the working one was in need of a good scrub down. The seating in the lobby was worn and peeling. We stayed 3 nights and our room was never cleaned. The only reason we ended up staying was that we spent all day and evening with family so we were only at the hotel to sleep. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, I didn't see any bugs and the staff were all nice. I'm just saying, I would not stay here again.

We had to book a hotel at the last minute for the holiday. While this wasn’t a bad hotel at all minimum it would have been great to actually be able to take a shower without water accumulating up to the top of your calves. We reported the issue after my husband took a shower around 8am. Checkout was at 11. It was filled so far up no one else could take a shower and it never drained. At 11am -checkout time maintenance finally showed up. We had advised the front desk multiple times and they told us they had too many tickets in front of us. Imagine paying for a hotel room and being unable to shower. Upon checkout the manager or front desk person was indifferent. To be frank she honestly didn’t give a flying hoot that we paid for a room without a properly functioning shower. I would have been perfectly fine if maintenance showed up and snaked it but they didn’t until it was time for us to leave. Front desk gave me the GM number but denied any room discount. But it truly the inconvenience I wanted compensation of. I went to a family member house to shower.

97% a total horrible presentation. 1% for great people like K and Merlin the breakfast crew and 1% for the size they dedicated to the gym. The last 1% is for the location

A horribly dirty hotel. Furniture is nasty. Beds are only OK, at best. Poorly maintained.

Every single machine in the guy is not functioning.

We booked it by mistake and are glad we only stayed 2 nights.

Only one of the elevators worked so we used the stairs like 95% of the time.

We did have a horrible check in experience, but Adam made it right for us.

Front desk great. Got bathroom light fixed fast.

Comfortable room.

The room temperature was fine and the parking lot was quiet and safe.

This IHG is full of mold. Their was also mold found on the food. Mold on curtains, under sinks, widowsills. Extremely disappointed!

Overall I believe it’s a place to call home away from home! Thank you to the Holiday Inn Express Richmond-Midlothian Staff.

I was very pleased with my recent stay at the holiday inn Express, air conditioning and fridge worked immaculately and it was very quiet and relaxing. The breakfast is also a great bonus. Biscuits & gravy was where it's at.

Great room for the money

I missed my appointment date. They canceled my booking for the entire weekend.

Nice hotel, needs some upgrades, a little outdated.

The room’s ac unit was tricky and it kept getting very cold. The staff were great!!

The rooms are clean. The staff are excellent. The property is pet friendly which is great for my service dog. The air conditioning is always cold. I stay at this property frequently while I get medical care and surgeries for cancer at VCU.

The Hotel is okay but is showing its age and time to be refurbished.

The smoke alarm kept going off in our room and neither one of us smoke here it is I left out and came back and went looking for the person that supposed to be at the front desk there was no one and finally at 6:00 in the morning we finally got someone and she said I've been here all night and I told her no you haven't because we've been looking for you we've been calling the front desk all night because the smoke alarm was going on because the room was nice the room was at the sheets had never been changed and one of the beds

Easy check in and room was clean. Location was very convenient. Staff was polite.

Worst Holiday Inn I’ve Stayed at and I’m a Platinum member. Room 308 smelled like urine and chemicals. Made me nauseous and burned my eyes. Seemed worse when the air/c was on. Toilet seat cracked and cut my butt. Curtains torn and no privacy. Tub drain wouldn’t drain water. Table surfaces and wardrobe front all sticky. Overstuffed chair stained and worn out with frayed armrests. Hotel worn out and oIn desperate need of a complete remodel. Not in a good area. Closed down restaurant next door. A lot of workers staying there. Breakfast was cold. Don’t believe the reviews. Never stay here! Staff was ok at front desk.

Curtains didn’t close all the way on our windows.
