This is our first trip to Anchorage and staying at the Lakefront Anchorage. Omg, it is AMAZING. You TOTALLY get what you pay for - in terms of facilities, amenities, and location. Also, #Crystal at the front desk was GREAT! She was basically the first person we spoke to at any length since our arrival and found her to be so helpful and friendly. Totally five stars! 😊🌟🙌 I would very much recommend this hotel and come again - hub for the facilities AND the staff. #MyMillenium
This stay was "meh" - and I'm writing while still here. Honestly, I'm a little disappointed. There's a few things I'm not wild about here - and I'll keep that to myself unless I feel later that I need to address it. But something that jumps out at me is that this place seems cheap - and not in a good way. It was NOT clear online that Breakfast isn't part of the room fee. Whatever. But it's expensive ($28 before tip!). And it's pretty much what you'd get at a Marriott or Hilton. But the thing that set me off is that they don't provide coffee in the lobby "because we have a restaurant." I'm sorry, but is this place SO cheap that it can't even provide this bare-bones-basic thing to guests? Really? And THAT'S your excuse?? I've been to off-brand chains that were attached to restaurants - and guess what - they still at least provided THAT basic amenity. I'm just disappointed. What a stupid reason. It's cheap, it felt like I was being blown off and I, frankly, think it's indicative of larger issues here.
Didn’t do much cause I know the area well. Went and visit family.
Start off by saying the room was average hotel quality clean and comfortable and the dinner at the bar in the evening was good. Where the poor review comes in was the breakfast buffet. 28$ for what most consider a continental breakfast I was alone but if I had my family with me that would have cost 120$ for fake eggs, bad sausage dried out waffles and a little bit of fruit. I should have looked at the food before just getting a plate. It has been a while since I’ve stayed here but they used to serve an excellent breakfast all off the menu so i expected something better my fault for not looking but 28$ for that was ridiculous.
We opened our room door. It smelled of cigarette smoke. The heat was set very high. And we was unable to turn it down or off. There was a window air conditioner in the room. So we turned that on.
We did use the free shuttle from the train station But it took forever to get one.
We spent 309 for the night. I think because it was a holiday weekend. They had a breakfast that was 20.00 each additional. So we decided to eat there. It was the worst. The poor waitress was the only one working. And we didn’t even get coffee refills. The worst waffles we have ever ate!!! Don’t do it. It was nasty
The breakfast wouldn’t be good. Even it was free!
The room smell was pretty gross.
What a wonderful hotel with a great view very comfortable very clean. Stay there for three nights the hotel. Staff was amazing the lady at thedesk when we checked in was Eurona what a wonderful young woman
Had a great two night stay here. We were late arriving and the lady in the desk, Eurina, was very welcoming. She was able to get us checked in quickly and answered all of our queries about the local area. The room was very good albeit a little tired. The breakfast was a buffet style and very adequate. Would stay again.
Location, easy check in,
Our room for the price over looked their trash area. First time visit, I assumed a more pleasant view than discarded refrigerators, exercise equipment, construction items, etc.
Free shuttle to and from airport. Arrived late and was able to enjoy a great burger in the bar/restaurant. Decor suited the fisherman interest.
Check-in was difficult. Only one staff member and was tricky to communicate. In the morning all issues were quickly resolved.
Comfortable beds. Awesome staff!
You could have more staff in dining room
Mattias was so helpful in the front. Best lodging in anchorage! Large rooms, clean, great view of the lake. For value and luxury. This place can’t be beat close to airport too. Would stay again!
Whilst the hotel room was looking a bit old and tired it was functional and comfortable.
However despite the staff working hard we were disappointed with the poor service and sub standard food served in the bar area.
We had to wait over 1 1/2 hours to get our food and this was after the waitress had to check the order. When it arrived the roll was dry and salmon overcooked.
Upon asking for the bill it failed to arrive in a timely manner and eventually we had to go to reception and ask for it to be put on our room.
Very disappointing
I booked the reservation through a travel site. I was aware that it was a 'no refund for cancellation' booking. However, a few days later, we changed our dates by a day and ADDED an additional night. They refused to cancel the original booking. Even the travel site tried contact them, but they refused. Oh well, I am out $200 bucks.
I wish I could say that the stay made up for it. Rude desk staff (Chris?) terrible service in the bar and restaurant and the food was unpleasant. Breakfast both days was a buffet style like you get at Holiday Inn Express. They said the Chef didn't show up for work (both days) so we couldn't order off the menu. Dinner was in the bar. My Reuben came soggy and was flavorless. My sons order was completely wrong. The bartender tried to charge me for a double scotch when I ordered a single. She mixed up a bunch of orders and charged me for drinks we did not order.
This place needs an overhaul from top to bottom.
My family refers to this hotel as the "Crusty Carpet Inn".
Room was comfortable and clean
