The Lakefront Anchorage

Arrived to find my booking had been cancelled, after a long journey this was a little scary, however Matias (Paraguay) on reception was absolutely brilliant. Took time to talk me through and sort the issue professionally and even offered a free breakfast for the trouble which was unexpected but really made an impression. Super impressed with his customer service. Huge thank you to Matias! The start of a fabulous stay.

The hotel sits on a lake with float planes taking off and landing outside. Restaurant with large windows for viewing. Our 3rd time staying and we will come again.

I’m a local and we visit the Fancy Moose at the Lakefront every week. Good selection of beers, good food, and fun bar. We visit with locals & visitors - have even taken visitors with time to kill on a tour of Anchorage! Julie, the bar tender on Monday & Tuesdays, is delightful. Highly recommend!

The room was nice.. It was clean and always stocked with towels. I appreciate the water in the room.

The location on Lake Hood was good. The shuttle worked well for pick up from the train depot and drop off at the airport.

We stayed at the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel for six nights during our Alaska vacation and found it to be a comfortable and convenient place to stay.

Our room was clean and comfortable, and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job of servicing the room daily and providing fresh towels. The hotel grounds are attractive, and the views of the lake add to the overall experience.

One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is its proximity to the airport. The complimentary shuttle service is very convenient, especially if you have an early morning flight. The airport is only about a five-minute drive away, which made catching our 6:00 AM flight stress-free.

The hotel also offers a free shuttle to downtown Anchorage, making it easy to explore the city, go shopping, or enjoy one of the many restaurants without having to worry about transportation.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable hotel with excellent airport access and convenient transportation options.

Shuttle was easy and quick to pick us up. Breakfast buffet was great and the views are wonderful!

Our holiday got off to a very stressful start when we arrived at the hotel only to discover that our booking could not be found, despite having booked through a reputable tour operator and having all of our documentation and hotel voucher details with us.

After a long journey, this was incredibly upsetting, and I became quite emotional and overwhelmed. At that moment, Matias, who is currently completing a internship from Paraguay, was absolutely outstanding.

From the moment he started helping us, he remained calm, professional, and reassuring. While I was standing at reception in tears, Matias patiently listened, took the time to understand the situation, and worked tirelessly to find a solution. He kept us informed throughout, never made us feel like we were a problem, and handled what was clearly a complicated issue with remarkable maturity and confidence.

What could have been a terrible start to our holiday was completely turned around because of his kindness, empathy, and determination to help. It is rare to come across someone who combines such excellent customer service skills with genuine compassion for guests.

Matias is a real credit to this hotel, and I wanted to make sure his efforts were recognised as he continues his placement year and in his hospitality career.

comfortable and easy access to airport

The location and that they had shuttles to take you downtown? To the trains station and the airport

I cannot think of a worse hotel to stay at. The shower button wouldn’t move and had to use the drain plug to wedge it so the shower would work. No creamer or sugar with the coffee for the morning. The refrigerator wasn’t plugged in. We only were given one towel the two of us. We requested additional towels, and they never came. Other than that, it was wonderful! Obviously, after three nights here would never stay here again.
