Overall great place
It was adequate for a city centre hotel although it's covered in scaffolding and there's a lot of drilling etc. Restaurant was nice.
The first room we were given was filthy with hairs in the bath and no heating switched on so it was freezing. Also the window overlooks the bar so we had a very bright light flooding our room till very late and no actual day light.
Comfort
Clean and friendly staff
Friendly staff, so helpful and the lady who served us our afternoon tea was absolutely lovely. Bed was huge as was the room, so comfy.
The really dark lighting
Good location, nice comfy bed.
The bar staff in the hotel provided a really poor level of service. I was one of the few people in the bar and it appeared like they deliberately avoided eye contact with me to prevent having to serve me. Eventually when I grabbed one of their attention she asked “what do you want?” And I nearly walked out, really poor service and a bit annoying.
Lovely hotel, great staff and good location
Room was lovely , comfortable bed . Fabulous breakfast . Really cool bar and lounge area . Staff friendly and helpful .
Nothing .
Appreciate old building, good location
Very good staff
Very Good breakfast, an extra treat because it was a special birthday trip
Bit dark, decor a bit dated
Machine for coffee at breakfast
Still scaffolding outside building after long time
The breakfast was very good. Good selection and very tasty.
The welcome we received when we arrived was not what we’ve received at other hotels in the Malmaison chain. It felt like the gentleman at reception thought we had wondered in off the street without a booking and changed his attitude slightly when we explained we had a booking. We are in the hospitality and tourism industry ourselves and train our staff to always exceed expectations not just meet them. Unfortunately, on this occasion our expectations weren’t even met.
The hotel itself looked shabby in places and the cleaning standards weren’t the best.
The hotel was amazing and the receptionist Aaron or Callum , can’t remember his name was fantastic an asset to the Malmaison team
Nothing
An enjoyable hotel experience in an interesting part of Glasgow
More lighting in the bedroom would have been better
