I had a scheduled medical procedure at UC San Diego Health, and the location of this Residence Inn was perfect - only about a 10-minute drive to my appointment. The location was very quiet and overall comfortable.

When we arrived, Omar was extremely gracious and helpful.

The property was old and run down there were people living there the room was dirty with stains on bed and furniture and a really bad smell of mold and urine and it was hard to breathe in the room it was so bad the neighbors said the property was full of criminals and people on drugs and you could see people hanging out. It felt very unsafe and I requested a refund because I could not stay there I was afraid and it was disgusting in the room the hotel gladly credited me the full amount for the two days BUT booking.com stole my money and even though the property fully credited me booking.com is refusing to refund me the full amount. I will be disputing it and filling any and all formal complaints to the BBB etc and will never use booking.com again.

Don’t care for offering mobile key to skip the front desk when you’re required to stop by the front desk. Anyway needed to kept uber driving waiting with my bags while I waited to check in, then we drove to the room a few buildings away.
Nice clean spacious suites, well appointed. Quickly realized the people above us were loud, sounded like they were training for a pogo stick competition. I just unpacked then went out for the day.
Next day the noise upstairs continued so I asked nicely to move to an upstairs unit, this one provided no noisy neighbors so I was happy.
Breakfast was a nice spread daily, I noticed they removed the waffle makers on the weekend, I’m thinking cause it’s busier and they take a few minutes it would be too crowded in there. Different meat selection daily was a nice treat. Orange juice was nice & offering cold brew was a treat.
I marked down 1 star because of the bbq downstairs we attempted to use one night for some steaks I bought. It must be malfunctioning cause you can smell gas when you turn on the valve at the bottle, but when using a lighter to ignite, it just made a huge woof of a fire ball burning the hair of my partners arms. Possibly some instructions should be posted. FYI we have a gas bbq at home.

We had an amazing stay at the Residence Inn La Jolla! From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff made us feel welcome. They were warm, attentive, and went out of their way to accommodate all the needs of our family of five. We stayed in the bi-level suite, and it was perfect. It was very spacious, comfortable, and spotless, plus you have a fully equipped kitchen & a laundry room on site. At times it felt like we were the only family there because of how quiet it was, but by the cars in the parking lot we knew it was fully booked. It gave our family plenty of room to relax and feel at home. The location is also a huge bonus. There are delicious restaurants within walking distance, including Pho La Jolla, along with a nearby grocery store for anything you might need. There’s also a shopping center just a short walk away with movie theaters and more, which made everything super convenient for our family. Traveling with a big family isn’t always easy, but they made everything effortless. The room was comfortable, the property was clean, and the service truly stood out. We’ll definitely be returning on our next trip to La Jolla!
