Holiday Inn Express & Suites Birmingham - Homewood by IHG

Fantastic Experience……We travel alot and this hotel was ideal for our needs. We stayed 3 nights for a family wedding. The staff were all great and super friendly, cleanliness was perfect, very safe, great location. Best shower pressure, great A/c and black out blinds, this was the most quiet hotel we have stayed in. I can be a picky guest and everything was perfect! Even though my spouse travels Alot for work and stays at various hotels from now on I am sold on holiday inn express if the Homewood location represents their brand. Thank you for treating us like family. 😎

I hate writing reviews like this because I know the staff work hard to make our stay comfortable. This is probably the worst Holiday Inn Express we have stayed. There were positive things, but some of the basic comforts were not met. When we booked the hotel, we were told that there were restaurants close by. We did not have a car and the girl at the front desk said that none of the restaurants are in walking distance. She recommended door dash. As many of you know, there is a charge for door dash. We were also hungry and did not want to wait for someone to deliver food 1 hour later. We opted to purchase a pot pie from the hotel's freezer case. We cooked it in the microwave. It was ok. We did not starve that night. The 2nd thing that was frustrating was that the people in the room below us kept their TV on all night. We do not know if it was at a high volume, but we could clearly hear the TV in our room The 3rd thing was that it was VERY difficult to regulate the room temperature. Sometimes it was cold and other times it was hot and humid. These conditions are hard to create an environment that is good for sleep. The last thing was the breakfast. We are not picky eaters, but we have gotten much better breakfasts at other Holiday Inn Expresses'. There was only 1 egg option. Egg whites with peppers and cheese. The decaf coffee was not good. I had to throw mine away. The plus side to the hotel was that the staff were very friendly. Check in and check out was easy. The bed was comfortable. The shower worked well. There were adequate towels in the room.

Room was very clean and fresh. Lobby and hotel amenities were also very clean.

This hotel is new-ish and very nice. The big disappointment is the lack of coffee maker in the room, which was a total surprise to me. I like to have coffee without having to get dressed, take the elevator downstairs and perhaps even have to stand in line to get a cup of coffee from the apparently fantastic (to them) Costa Coffee machine (have they been to Europe to see the coffee machines there?). I don't want to be forced into the lobby before I wake up. There is a microwave and frig in the room. Why allow people to eat and drink cold beverages in the room and not coffee? Microwaves and frigs are more time consuming to clean (and smellier) than coffee machines. Good grief----there can be no reason other than cost cutting. Take out the microwaves and refrigerators---who's idiotic idea was this---a non-coffee drinker? Someone who gets up cheerfully every morning and wants to go downstairs to have coffee with noisy breakfast go-ers? Think people, think. Does it offend customers to have a coffee maker in the room? I think not. Does it please people who are early morning coffee drinkers? I think so. I won't be staying at these properties any more,

We stayed at the property for Samford University orientation. It was convenient, clean and safe.

One of the nicest HE express I’ve stayed at. Super clean , optimal location to highway and retail & food . Walking distance to 2 gas stations and Dunkin Donuts .

Super quiet location, rooms are in great shape . AC unit runs smooth not at all noisy . Hotel bed was very comfortable, safe location . Shower was clean and well maintained.

Staff here really go above and beyond maintaining a great hotel environment and high quality guest experience.

Highly recommend staying here for any type of travel . Best place to stay in Birmingham, Alabama for sure !

We have stayed here numerous times and we are never disappointed! The property, breakfast, comfortable bed, clean bathrooms and the staff are ALWAYS great!

Had an amazing stay. The staff was friendly: the hotel was nice and clean. It was near a lot of food places and shopping places. The breakfast was good and hot also.

We came to the area for a family event. This hotel looked extremely updated and new. Room was clean, tidy, and staff was friendly and kind. I definitely recommend booking this hotel. I will certainly book it once I come back into town.

Great for families. It’s a newer building so it’s really clean and fresh. The room was spacious for our family of 5. We really enjoyed the breakfast with that cool pancake machine. Would definitely stay again.

Overall great experience!

We stayed here for an appointment with UAB the next day. We weren’t there long, but our room was clean. And the beds were SO comfortable! They supply Dove shampoo, conditioner, and body wash so no need to pack your own. We’ve stayed in many hotels in Birmingham and I think this will be our go to from now on.
