An amazing, grand historical hotel right on the front
Very tired and tatty. Single room was depressing. Parking was £14 even for a motorcycle
breakfast was a poor standard sausage/bacon like rubber black pudding not cooked unable to get coffee due to the amount of people room not very clean bed was ok
question is what did we like
Hotel has lovely character as expected with the age and history of the hotel, spacious rooms, pleasant friendly staff
Place is showing its age would be nice to see upgraded/ refurbished rooms and keep the original decor and feel of the hotel elsewere throughout, room was dusty and carpets were quite stained, price didnt really reflect the service recieved
Very old well kept hotel
Loved every bit
Staff were very attentive and friendly.
Car park prices are a bit steep now, and less staff in breakfast room meaning tables weren't cleared off as quickly and noone to speak to when something had run out.
breakfast and room
The bathroom pipes and fixtures are old and could benefit from modernization.
Location, the view from our room, friendly staff
Room was tired, needs fresh paint on the woodwork, carpet not the best and re decorating the walls would be a good idea
Spacious room ,good breakfast
Nothing
Nice size bedroom, comfy bed, ambient temperature (thankfully as the weather had been extremely hot in the lead up to our stay). Plenty of wardrobe space and a good supply of hangers. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. All staff very helpful and friendly.
It's not anything that spoiled our stay or caused a huge problem but the door handle plate on the inside of our bedroom was loose so every time someone walked past our room, it rattled. Also, the toilet roll holder was loose. The main lift was out of order throughout our stay, which caused a bit of a queue having to use the staff lift and this also held up the housekeeping staff at times who were always polite in letting us use it before them. Although the hotel is a little bit tired looking in places, it wouldn't stop us from staying here again, and I hope my comments are taken in the spirit they are intended - constructive.
Room was so bad and bathroom was so bad mirror was not top of sink it's was top of toilet no water was coming in bathroom staff was one in reception took as long check in was at 3 but we cheking at 6 stilland after all that we got one room instead of two room they told come after 15min
