Beautiful building near North Pier
Pros:

This beautiful old building looks amazing from the front. Gorgeous architecture & features. It's in a great location, overlooking the sea & with easy access to trams or to walk into town.

Although you're required to pre-check in online, there was still some queuing to obtain keys to the room. Having said that, the reception staff were very friendly, polite & refreshing.

The room was a little dated & would benefit from new furnishings & redecoration. But it was adequate forvthe very reasonable price paid fir a twin room.

The buffet breakfast was excellent & there was a lot of choice. The hot food was really well cooked, tasty & importantly hot!

Overall a great place to stay.

Imperial Hotel not worth the cost.
Pros:

Breakfast was really good everything you want although as my partner and I are both vegetarians some alternatives to meat would have been nice but on the whole very good cant say it's worth the price though.

Cons:

Dirty cups left outside of the room for the whole of our stay not ours entertainment was ok but choice of rooms poor second night was in a dining room no lights or dancefloor just no atmosphere and a walk to and from bar not really ideal bar was poor got charged different prices everytime I bought a drink and no menus available other than overpriced sandwiches and snacks won't stay again as it looks old tired and dirty.

Perfect Family Stay
Pros:

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. It is very family orientated with a cinema room, soft play room and arcade room for all guests to use, we also were given the circus room which was a secret room my child had to find then had sole access to over our stay and we had circus bedding which he loved. the room was full of family games/ circus tricks and things to do which made our evenings fun when the weather wasn't nice. All the staff interacted with us professionally and the dining and breakfast staff always ensured the spoke directly to my child taking them to show them how the pancake machine worked and taking their order directly involving him and making him feel important. the room was lovely, comfy bed, clean and comfortable.

Frustrated. Degrading, it spoilt my holiday.
Pros:

Although l have written solo l was with a coach party with Shearings. Unbeknownst to me, Shearings now book group block bookings. Which means the tour operator tells us when we will eat our evening meal. 7pm was the time. It is too late at night to eat a three course meal. But we do not get served at 7pm. They serve all the other independent customers first then clearly their tables. It is now 7.20pm. Most of the group have been waiting at our designated tables, we will not be served un till all the group is there. The group are not aware of this because they have not been told. When I challenged the head waiter that is when I found out what was going on.
There are so many things wrong with this hotel. I am so exhausted with the build up of all the things that have happened in these 5 days. It has spoil my holiday.
The room needed a good clean. The shower controls were cake with dirt.
Bit of white paper scattered randomly along 2 corridors to the lift.
They do not keep any commodities in reception. They have to be delivered to your room by a member of staff. I never received any. There is only one person on reception, trying to serve more than 10 people. You never get a chance to ask a question because they are too busy. While I was waiting l heard many complaints. From no soap in a guests bathroom , which he had informed the staff in the morning. 6pm he still has o soap in his bathroom. Another guest in her room, which they had changed to a deluxe room for their wedding anniversary. It had dead blowflys in the windowsill the fridge was dirty to. Then the shower did not work and caused a flood.
I will never be coming here again.

Lovely place
Pros:

This hotel is wonderful but its looking tired. Will always stay there as staff are lovely, but just come back and have to say, room 215 lovely but lampshade by bed, tatty, replace it , don't get a dirt cheap tv remote for your TV, couldn't work it half the time, couldn't even get a TV menu up. Breakfast wonderful but noticed had to ask a few times for more milk, none in machine, tea/coffee machine flashing red, for a while. I had to ask for cereal bowls , do not min but I honestly think you're a little short of staff at reception and in the dining room. Would be lovely to have a pool as often pop into Norbreck hotel for a swim, wouldn't stay there but would be nice not to have to. Look after this beautiful old hotel, its a treasure so a little tlc would be great.
