When we arrived the bath tub had hair in it.
Not generally clean
We stayed at Sofitel Marseille Vieux-Port for a few days in July and had a wonderful experience from start to finish.
The hotel is in a fantastic location overlooking the Old Port, and simply sitting on the terrace in the evening with a drink while watching the boats come and go became one of the highlights of our stay. The atmosphere was relaxed and quintessentially Marseille.
Our room was spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained. Every member of staff we interacted with was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. What stood out most was that everyone acknowledged us with a smile, whether it was at reception, housekeeping, or in the restaurant—it made the hotel feel genuinely hospitable rather than simply professional.
Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide selection of fresh products and beautiful views over the harbour to start the day.
Overall, this was exactly the kind of stay you hope for: comfortable, effortless, and memorable. We would happily return the next time we’re in Marseille.
