Dead bolt on door not working... both problems solved by hotel handyman.. funky breakfast cafe across the street..but friendly staff

Pros:

When we arrived we were put in a big room which was very cold and a bit dusty. We told the reception that the heating wasn't working properly and they gave us a nicer and bigger room with functioning heating. The photos on booking look better as not all the rooms have been refurbished. Could do with a few more toiletries but overall it's a good place to stay and the people at the reception are really nice and professional.

Cons:

Je ne recommande pas le petit déjeuner qui n'est pas sur place. A 50 m dans un bar avec un choix restreint de plat salé. Il faudrait que ce soit mentionné sur l'annonce.

Great location, but the locked balconies continue to be a major drawback
Pros:

We have stayed at the Town Inn Suites multiple times in recent years and it's always a good experience, partly because of its location in the Bloor-Yorkville village and partly because the rooms are more like full apartments rather than conventional hotel rooms. Steps from the TTC, it's also very close to many restaurants, pubs and attractions. We enjoy this hotel and we will book there again.

Cons:

There are several quirky drawbacks to the Town Inn Suites, and their balconies will always be at the top of the list. This hotel has full balconies -- a rarity in this city -- and yet they are locked. A staff member says it was a decision made by ownership about 10 years ago for "safety" and yet, they were not able to fully explain why. Safety for who? Why? Hotels all over the world have balconies and in fact, guests often have to pay more to have one. To the management/ownership of this hotel: for heaven's sake, unlock the balconies. There is no reason to bar guests from enjoying their morning coffee while looking over the city. The other quirks include no dressers or room safes.

Very good stay
Pros:

Hotel size is xcellent, staff very helpful and friendly. Free upgraded to two bedrooms apartment.
Kitchen ware such as fridge, stove and utensils are very clean..

Cons:

Toilet could be better. Smell of urine from the drainage sometimes even after housekeeping.. toilet door could put locking system..
Heater in bedroom like not working.. blowing cold air despite put on warm.. other than that everything else is fine.
