Pros:

The design stayed true to its roots. They ensured that the original design of the hotel is still there.

Terrible. Truly awful hotel.
Pros:

A disgrace of a hotel with appalling management.
Upon arrival to a chaotic lobby, we checked in then received a notice under our door. It stated that there MAY be some amplified sound from the hotel as an event will occur from 8 am until 8 pm. We were abruptly and disturbingly awoken at 7.15 am by the most horrific, loud sound of bass and amplifiers. It shook and vibrated the room. We called reception and they did nothing. The terrible noise lasted all day and we expected it to finally end at 8 pm...but it didn't. It went on and on. We tried to call reception, again and again, but nobody picked up the phone. In the end I went down, explaining that we couldn't even hear the TV in our room properly. Reception again did nothing telling us the event was supposed to finish at 9 pm ( not 8 pm which the management has told guests). Finally, after a whole 15 hours of absolute hell, it stopped. This hotel is a disgrace and NOT recommended for a peaceful stay. It sets itself up as a heritage hotel, but there's no heritage in 15 hours of bass and amplifiers at extreme volume. STAY AWAY if you value class, honesty, peace, service and culture.

Hotel Manila's faded glory
Pros:

This iconic Manila hotel was a disappointment. The public areas are magnificent but the bedrooms' decoration is dark and the rooms need to be modernised. There are only light switches on one side of the bed and the rooms lack power points for mobil phones.
The buffet breakfast is splendid,excellent quality there are a variety of asian and western dishes, unfortunately the waiter service is not on the same par, very inattentive.
We requested a late check out and were offered 30 minutes, which is ridiculous. It's far better to say that a late check out is unavailable. The restaurants offer a 20% discount for hotel guests but if you have already checked out this promotion is not applicable.
The area surrounding the pool needs more maintenance and to be repainted.
To summarise the hotel needs a revamp and more staff training to restore it to it's former glory.

Hôtel qui n a de 5 étoiles que le nom. Une usine à mariages et à groupes de touristes. La foule la queue partout et pour tout … pour l ascenseur jusqu au petit dej…
Nous avions réservé une nuit en suite terrasse, elle n était plus libre à notre arrivée, nous nous sommes retrouvés dans une « suite » dans la partie ancienne de l hôtel. Chambre sans double vitrage au dessus d un carrefour de la sortie du port avec tous les camions. Nous n avons pas fermé l œil. Personnel qui s en fiche. Hôtel vieillot sans charme.
