The staff and food were excellent
Historic charm, the staff were so helpful, and the location was good.
The staff were friendly and attentive, and we got a room with a lovely view. The lobby was grand, and you could truly feel the historical vibe of the place.
The breakfast buffet in Café Ilang-Ilang was great! I enjoyed all the food, especially the taho, hot chocolate, pandesal and of course the typical Filipino breakfast~danggit with fried rice.
Overall, we were satisfied with our stay, but I think there’s still some room for improvement in the breakfast area. It was so crowded and noisy. OMG! It felt like we were eating in a canteen, and it was hard to enjoy a peaceful breakfast. They also informed us about the dress code upon check-in, but some guests were not following the rules.
What a sad shock! We haven't stayed here since 1991 when Mt Pinatubo erupted. At that time the Manila Hotel was charming. In 2026 it seems to have lost it. The lobby is like a railway station, the noise and crowds wielding cameras, have totally destroyed it's previous unique atmosphere.
We're not even allowed to sign any consumption to our room. The staff are helpful but they seem to be governed by ridiculous rules.
I am so so disappointed. My husband and I have been looking forward to revisiting one of our favourite hotels. Never again. 😪

I booked an overnight stay for two at the Manila Hotel in April 2026 because of the Run for Million Trees fun run. Manila Hotel is just a few steps away from the Quirino Grandstand, making it the perfect choice. Since I was with my 83-year old mother, the concierge assigned to us a room with a PWD-friendly bathroom, which we appreciated. The hotel also had a turn down service in which checked-in guests were given sample chocolates. The breakfast buffet has a wide variety of Filipino and international food though it may be difficult to get a table at the Cafe Ilang Ilang during peak hours. The hotel rate per night is reasonably priced and the same goes for the restaurants. The hotel never runs out of events from morning till night so parking is understandably difficult. Valet service can be availed of but expect to wait for at least 15 minutes before your car is handed back to you at the lobby.
The room, the food, the staff- all excellent.

Worst reception
I made two bookings via Klook but one of them suddenly not confirmed. As a consequently, one booking via Manila hotel own website and another one via Klook but the reception lady told none booking received. After twenty some minutes checking, it was told only hotel own website booking found but not another one via KLook, i asked her to call the contact number in the Klook voucher but she refused and said it should be my responsibility to call. She finally called at once when i asked her to write down no Klook booking was found in writing. As a result, she confirmed both bookings located and asked me to come back at noon when room is ready.
I returned at 1600hrs to get room but another reception lady told ONLY hotel own website booking was noted. I therefore needed to show my Klook voucher but again told not received. I asked the lady duty Asst Manager to help where she called the agency and confirmed the booking BUT failed to note my SUNRISE SUITE BOOKING indicated on the Klook vouncher. She then called agency again but still not honoured the suite booking clearly indicated in the voucher where they did take a photo of the voucher. As we stood at counter over an hour, i therefore check in the standard room and called Klook where Klook double confirmed with hotel that it should Suite booking around 1730hrs. However, it took five more hours for the Asst manager to write me a note without any apologize to tell it should be Suite booking around 2100hrs.
Nevertheless, the breakfast and afternoon tea were good.
I wont stay again as the whole reception was a mess nor helpful.
