Not as pictured
Pros:

The fact that our initial room was completely different than pictured was just a start. We have used HomeAway many, many times with “exceeded expectation” results but this one was a let down. On top of it all, the hotel manager and assistant manager were... let’s just go with “less than pleasant.” I’m stopping here because I could go on and on about things that were overly misrepresented on this particular outfit. On the bright side, we still had an amazing vacation and the Bahamas are still at the top of my list of favorite places to visit. Just definitely under different accommodations. Had the staff been more friendly and warm, I may have had a slightly different interpretation of the unit.

P.S.
The restaurant directly in front of the unit (harbor front) is in a completely dilapidated state.

Pros:

The grounds are nice, but the rooms could use some updating. Bathroom felt old. Newer fixtures would help. Be advised that there is NO elevator on this hotel. We stayed on the 3rd floor and had to haul luggage up 3 flights of stairs.

1 star condition property with a 5 star staff
Pros:

Shame on whomever rated this property as a 3.5 or 4 star! This is at BEST a 1 star property:
The lobby is a tiny room with wood panel walls - a high counter with one staff person (very very nice person) working. The check in is easy as there is no real computer system to speak of - just a note system and a communication log, which we discovered the next day isn't successful.
This is a 3 story property with no elevator - so if you are bringing luggage - DON'T. I have a back injury as does my husband and even though the kind woman - Dee - hefted one of our pieces of luggage up the 2 flights of stairs - we were on vacation for over 2 weeks (on another island) so we had "luggage", we still had to carry luggage both up and all of our luggage down the stairs as no one was available on our check out!
Now to the room: I kept my shoes on the entire time I was in the room - enough said? Not sure who's long dark hair was left for us in the tub the sink and on the bathroom floor - but my husband and I both have short dark hair. The old urine around the base of the toilet was disgusting. Dirty mirrors, dirty light fixtures - no smoking but the room smelled like smoke .
The "security" for the room was a many times painted, rusty chain and a bathroom lock on the main door, no peep hole.
The entire room needs cleaned thoroughly - I operate Air Bnb's I understand how hard it is to maintain cleanliness - but this property needs some major TLC and a honest rating so others don't get fooled!

Unclean and over priced
Pros:

I paid $300 for a night at PHC. I couldn't check in until 4pm and check out was 10 am. When I was finally able to check in my girlfriend and I found dark hair all over the room, mainly in the sink and on the bed, including the pillows...even in the freezer for some reason.

There was no soap, shampoo or conditioner in the room. I had to go to the reception to ask and I was told that shampoo and conditioner were not available.

I was exhausted luckily which enabled me to sleep but my girlfriend had an uncomfortable stay.

I will not be rushing back.

Not friendly, accommodating or clean
Pros:

Despite speaking to someone from Expedia at the time of booking to ensure the room would be large enough to accommodate our party of 5, the room had one king bed. The hotel staff initially was standoffish and attempted to upcharge for a larger room. When I was able to show written documentation of the request, the manager/owner told me he saw the request but never responded to Expedia because the hotel was fully booked. When I pointed out the poor customer service, he changed his treatment and when I pointed out that he could not just ignore the request as this would validate my impression that the request was being honored they managed to find a much larger room at no cost.
It was a terrible way to begin a vacation despite the eventual good outcome.

Additionally this hotel looks nothing like the photos online. It is extremely dated. The hot tub attached to the pool was not clean and the outdoor area was terribly infested with mosquitos. The hotel has minimal food accommodations and staff was less than eager to assist us in locating a local restaurant that could deliver.

Reasonable hotel in a pretty area.
Pros:

More modest hotel in an area close to Atlantis and golf course. Simpler facilities but unpretentious and staff willing to help with anything and just let you relax. Great to be able to have free cycles to use around local area during day.

Pros:

Staff were not hospitable or helpful. No ice machine, vending machine, food, or drinks on grounds of hotel. You need to travel miles to other hotels to get these things. Deli up the road, but bare essentials there. Pool furniture run down. Curtains in rooms are see thru. People walking by can see in so be dressed at all times. Restaurant on premises, but closed down due to hurricane years ago. Thise hotel is a Dump

Romantic Getaway
Pros:

This hotel was secluded. In a nicer part of town. Close to Cabbage Beach which is a less populated Beach. I took my boyfriend for his birthday. The Mermaid bar has great food. And the room was clean.

Okay stay
Pros:

The room was clean and well appointed with a nice patio area. The patio has a nice view of the harbor but also looks over a run down, abandoned restaurant. There is no elevator so be prepared to bring you luggage up stairs. The pool area was very nice with a little snack bar that served good food and drinks but kind of pricey as are most places in this area. The resort was loud at night with many young people. Probably will not stay here again.

Mediocre
Pros:

This is more of a motel by American standards. Located in a residential area and not much within walking distance. There are several aspects of this hotel that are conveniently left out of the pictures. Air conditioning is either OFF or full blast COLD. Lobby is basically a small office and closes at night.

Nice hotel close to the beach
Pros:

Staff friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clear, spacious. Over all it was a delightful experience. My only recommendation is, the reception area needs a make over; also the entry doors.

Pros:

Overall nice place. Very dated not many upgrades. There were no shuttles to/from the hotel so that was a down side. Best part of the hotel is Julian and Julia who run the bar, they were phenomenal with food, drinks and pool side entertainment!

first and last time
Pros:

Pictures look a lot better than reality . Didn't feel like anybody knew we were there. Just because it has Paradise in the name doesn't mean it's anywhere close to it ( almost every hotel has paradise in its name ). No music or anything that made you feel like you were on vacation. Never again .
