Ensana Grand Margaret Island

The connected tunnel for the thermal spa was amazing

I really enjoyed my time at Ensana Grand, and hope I can come back someday! My one improvement would be a more flexible wellness package included in the price of the stay - I had pool and sauna access included in my reservation, but I am not a pool or sauna person! If I could somehow switch this out for a limited amount of treatments, like the basic facials or massages, that would've been a game-changer.

Very quiet property on island with thermal bath, spacious rooms, great breakfast

This is my third time staying at this hotel. And this time was even better than before. The rooms are comfortable, the spa area is amazing, the breakfast buffet is extraordinary and the service is wonderful. I highly recommend staying at this jewel. It might not be modern, but its old time charm and location can’t be beat.

Facilities and location are excellent allowing for a relaxing break while in the heart of the city

The serene location on Danube's Margareth Island, hotel pool and spa facilities, very friendly and professional staff were the perfect combination for enjoyable stay.

Our room looked like it hadn't been used for a few months. There was cobwebs on the mirror lights and on the light above the bed. Not a nice thing especially for my wife. Hotel otherwise is good, spa facilities are in the Ensana Thermal hotel and are good, too. The breakfast we as very very basic for us. As Vegetarian there was just bread, rolls,and cereals. No toasters, no beans, no roasted tomatoes, waffles etc that you find in a normal breakfast. The rooms are not soundproof at all. You can hear the cleaners outside. You can hear next door closing a cupboard door or sneezing etc, not quiet rooms at all. Disappointed with the breakfast and the webs in the room, and lack of soundproofing in the rooms.

We stayed at this hotel recently, and overall, it left us with mixed feelings. The building itself is old-stylish, which can feel charming, and in general, it is kept clean. The staff is kind and welcoming, but everything moves very slowly. Communication can also be a challenge, as English is not spoken very well.

Food is definitely not a strong point of the hotel. It doesn’t always feel fresh, and sometimes the vegetables seemed old—borderline spoiled. This part was quite disappointing.

As for families, I would not recommend this place at all. Although the hotel advertises swimming pools, children are not allowed to play in them. They forbid bringing pool toys or even a ball, which makes the pool area very restrictive. Most of the other facilities are clearly aimed at adults, so the hotel should really market itself as an adults-only destination rather than as family-friendly.

Another thing to note is that many guests come with their dogs. If you are allergic to dogs or not comfortable around animals, this will be an issue.

To summarize: this is a quiet hotel for adults who want a slow-paced, calm stay, possibly with pets. But if you are a family with children, especially if you’re looking for pools and activities for kids, this is not the place for you.

Excellent location right on the Duna river.

Nice environment around a hotel. A bit old school.

Everything except only the parking wasn't excellent. The marked spaces are way to narrow for the rather wide (SUV) cars. Finally, I learned about the garage with wide slots, for extra money, but worth the peace of mind.

Expedia made a horrible mistake, when confirmed my reservation. Added beside my name, whole Credit card number, the security code too. I had to get a new card number.

The location and the thermal bath were great. We will return!

It was our second stay at this hotel. Loved every aspect of it, the room, the bed, the buffet breakfast, and the spa.

Hotel was very clean, comfortable bedding, airy rooms and excellent service.

I liked the hotels position the midget's were a nuisance and the thermal bathing facilities were very good.

Grand Ensana is a beautiful property in the lush Margaret Island in the heart of Budapest. The room was comfortable, the breakfast fresh and fabulous with great service and friendly staff. The excess to the spa and pool along with outdoor sundeck keeps you relaxed as long as you want!
