The Mandeville’s location is perfectly nestled among the large high street retailers, as well as surrounded by many charming pubs and restaurants. The morning Flat Whites are also of the best I have tasted in the area. The service and reception were both very friendly and attentive. Thank you @Nikita for a wonderful stay!

Her professionalism, genuine kindness, and remarkable proactive attitude stood out from the very first moment. The concierge was consistently helpful, responsive, and willing to assist with questions and arrangements. The waiters were also attentive and courteous, providing friendly service throughout the stay.
On the first night, there was a loud intermittent noise in the room that made it difficult to rest. I reported it the next morning and requested compensation, clearly stating that I was not seeking an upgrade. After multiple reminders on my side, the reception staff claimed they would provide a 50% refund for the first night, but they did not follow through, which raised serious doubts about the integrity of the team.
The reception is staffed mainly by very junior employees, many of whom appear to be students, and this lack of experience showed. One staff member confused pre‑authorisation with an actual debit on my card. Another kept assuring me for more than 90 minutes that my room was “being prepared”; in reality, I only received the room several hours later.
Billing and communication around charges were also problematic. My card was debited without any email notification or immediate receipt. When I asked about this, the front‑of‑house manager explained that I would get the invoice on departure. In my view, a hotel should always provide a receipt at the time a card is charged.
The front-of-house manager was not aware of key details from my previous conversations with his team, which suggests internal communication is weak. After checking the hotel’s Facebook reviews, I noticed similar complaints from other guests, which makes me think my case was not an isolated one.
Overall, the combination of noise issues, unfulfilled promises, unclear communication, and inconsistent handling of payments and complaints left me disappointed. With better training, transparent follow‑through on commitments, and stronger management oversight, this hotel could significantly improve the guest experience.
My husband and I enjoyed a brief two night stay at the Mandeville and enjoyed the convenient location and friendly staff. There are many restaurants in the area and it is convenient to the tube. We were able to take the train service directly to Heathrow. Room was clean and well appointed with toiletries, robe and slippers. We were also pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite.
