Carlton mythique mais en décadence navrante.
Pros:

Les lits très confortables, les rideaux très occultants, la machine expresso, les produits d’hygiène très doux et les mules brodées à l’or fin!
Nous n’oublions pas les tapis à ramages dans l’escalier.

Cons:

L’accueil indifférent du réceptionniste, la décoration vieillotte, bourgeoise à la limite du mauvais goût, la terrasse qui n’en est pas une , qui n’est qu’un balcon. Nous n’oublions pas les tapis à fleurs de lys dans les couloirs.

Bien mais déçu pour un 5 étoiles
Pros:

L’emplacement parfait, la surface des chambres, l’aspect très luxueux

Cons:

Accueil très froid et décevant pour un hôtel de se standing.
On a sûrement pas eu de chance mais beaucoup de bruit à l’étage pendant la nuit.

100% recomendable para personas muy exigentes.
Pros:

Muy amplio, confortable. Muy buena atención. Todo lo mejor que se puede encontrar después de una jornada de trabajo

Cons:

El aparcamiento, para aparcar tuve que desplazarme un poco ya que el hotel tiene pocas plazas. Aunque todo lo demás hace no tener en cuenta esa falta de servicio.

Hotel is 4 star standard based on our experience or maybe our expectations were too high!
Pros:

Location is great. Doorman very friendly and nice.

Cons:

Staff not very welcoming at reception. On arrival at 1.15pm we were early and asked could we get lunch and were told restaurant not open yet. We found out later there’s a bar serving pintxos which we could have gone to. We were not asked on leaving if we had enjoyed our stay. In general the experience at reception was cold.

Room was adequate, sparsely furnished and comfortable but not to 5 star standard. And it was an upgrade which we had paid for in advance.

Coffee at breakfast was very variable. On one occasion it was gravy style and undrinkable. Staff nice in breakfast room but hard to find them sometimes as they were not readily available in the room.

I had an excellent stay at Hotel Carlton. From the moment I arrived, the reception staff were welcoming, professional, and genuinely friendly, making the check-in process smooth and enjoyable.
The hotel's location is fantastic, making it easy to explore Bilbao on foot and access the city's main attractions. Cleanliness was outstanding throughout my stay. Although the hallways and room have a classic, older style, they are exceptionally clean, well maintained, and far from worn out.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would happily stay here again on my next visit to Bilbao.
