Very good and would happily return.
Pros:

We have stayed before and our second visit was very good. The room was very spacious and very comfortable. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the city and within walking distance of all one would need in a city visit. The history of the building was evident and fascinating. The staff were exceptionally helpful and welcoming.

Cons:

The bathroom decor was shabby with grout missing etc. The tiled floors were clean but had plenty of water spot matt marks which marred the appearance. The upholstery on the day bed was marked . The real disappointment of these minor defects in a 5 star hotel was the contrast with the excellent standard elsewhere.

Wonderful place to stay.
Pros:

Excellent as in excellent location. Everything was walkable. Wonderful hotel that has a feel of history. We had a splendid room with a view of the square. All staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it as The place to stay in Bilbao.

Cons:

This is a small thing and a hint to management. The chairs in the breakfast room needs repadding. You felt like you were sitting more on the wooden frame.

Fantastic Hotel
Pros:

Location, standard of service and the staff....and ambience makes this hotel really rather special

Went for business so just overnight but will go back when have more time

Cons:

No swimming pool....but built in 1920s and very central and bit difficult to squeeze one in.....understand
