The Montegue on the Gardens was a charming hotel nestled on a quiet street across from the British Museum. We chose the location specifically because it was a quick walk to the museum entrance.
The hotel lobby is decorated beautifully and very comfortable. We had a standard room facing the street. It was equally pretty and clean and surprisingly not much noise from the street. The bed was very comfortable.
Breakfast was very good as well and there were plenty of options off the buffet.
Most impressive was the hotel staff. Their smiles and attention to detail were exceptional. It made our stay that much better.
This is a lovely, comfortable hotel with a very attentive staff who are eager to provide any assistance requested. The location is a few steps away from the British Museum in a very nice area of London. I would stay here again and I will recommend it to others. It is an older building but it is extremely well maintained and guests are made extremely comfortable by the staff's attentiveness to any need.
We recently stayed at the Montague, what a lovely hotel.
Great location for Euston station, the British Museum and Oxford Street.
The staff were so helpful and friendly.
The Montague is a real gem we will definitely stay there again.
Nothing could really have been better, the hotel atmosphere was so welcoming, the staff friendly, helpful and professional, the rooms so comfortable.
Everything came together to make our 'memories-making' family trip very very memorable and just what we had hoped for.
I would of course fully recommend this hotel to everyone!!
Everything…all the staff were so courteous
Room was a little small
Very pleasant English stay in excellent location. Though older building reconfigured as a hotel, it is in perfect condition both physically and staffed. Uniformly welcoming and helpful, comfortable lounge for morning coffee, generous selection of newspapers. Seems to attract upscale smaller American tour groups. Russell square/Bloomsbury with multiple charms at your doorstep.
Everything was fine
Restaurant meals could be better
Very very helpful staff throughout our stay.
This is the most charming hotel in London
The surroundings and customer service is first class and the location is perfect for access to arts, museums and culture
The head concierge Mustafa El’Omari is simply the best and everyone goes that extra mile to provide a truly wonderful experience.
Emplacement central. Personnel aux petits oignons et services irréprochables.
Chambres un peux petite. Immeuble vieillissant mais plein de charmes. Pas de mini bar
My husband and I recently stayed at The Montague on the Gardens while visiting London to see Les Misérables, and we had a wonderful experience.
From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and welcoming. We were delighted to receive a room upgrade, and our room was beautiful, spotless, and very comfortable. The handwritten welcome card from the MD was a lovely touch. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel was quiet, ensuring a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was delicious and well organised.
We usually try different hotels when visiting London, but we’ve already decided to return and will happily recommend The Montague on the Gardens to others.
We had a wonderful experience at The Montague on the Gardens in London. From the moment we checked in, we felt catered to and taken care of at the highest order.
While everyone we met was lovely—including Megan—the most helpful people during our stay were undoubtedly India and Levente. India, the young lady who received us at the front desk, was incredibly courteous and understanding, especially given our strange arrival hours and the travel odyssey we had just been through. Later, our excellent concierge, Levente, went above and beyond to ensure that in the brief time we had in London, we had every opportunity to experience the best the city has to offer.
Not only were the rooms spectacular and the amenities wonderful, but the establishment also caters to the differently abled, featuring a wheelchair-accessible shower in at least one room. With stable Wi-Fi, great breakfast service, and a central location close to everything, we cannot recommend The Montague on the Gardens enough!
The location is excellent. Just off Russell Square in Bloomsbury, opposite the British museum and walking distance to Covent Garden.
The public rooms were opulent in a traditional style. We were upgraded. to a suite which was very comfortable although possibly getting a little bit tired and the lighting would benefit from more lamps and fewer spots. However the bed was extremely comfortable and there was no external noise of any kind to disturb us.
Food was a strongpoint Breakfast was comprehensive and lunch was very good. ( Didn't have dinner)
The no 1 attraction however is the outstanding team. . Whoever does the recruitment should take a bow. Without exception from front desk to chambermaids all were highly professional, fully engaged and exceptionally. friendly. Special mention goes to " Chini" in the restaurant who was absolutely delightful.
Firstly, I have to mention the staff of the hotel. They were all so friendly and helpful, attentive without being over the top and nothing was too much trouble. While we were checking in, the young lady on reception offered to show us round the hotel as we hadn’t been before. It’s those little things that make such a difference. The hotel was clean and spacious with beautiful decor. The room was spacious and welcoming. I love the fact that we had a hand written card, welcoming us to the hotel from the managing director in our room on arrival. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice, all of which was fresh and delicious. We have stayed in a number of hotels in London over the years. For us, this has to be the best. It ticks all of the boxes for us and more. We will definitely be back very soon.
I really can’t think of anything.
