Size of the room was good. So was breakfast.
The hotel was very dirty. Specially communal areas. There was do much dust, empty cans of drinks, tissue on the floor. They obviously hadn't been cleaned for days.
Showers in the pool area were also filty. Shame though as it's a nice hotel but just lacks a bit of TLC.
The location
It looks and feels tired.
The bar was not fully operational. No draft beers and ran out of a particular wine after just one glass.
Also the price of two drinks was stratospheric.
I won’t be using this particular hotel again.
Close proximity to purpose of our visit to the area
No draughty beer available
Not offered discount to booking
The hotel has a nice feel, quite well spread out too. There was a little section of the restaurant that is set aside for children, with blocks, books and a mat for playing on that kept my son entertained. Breakfast was as expected for a Holiday Inn ie reliably good and decent selection of hot & cold options.
The pool & spa facilities were great, especially as the pool is actually warm which is a massive bonus as my son tends to become quite cold quite quickly in non-heated pools.
Overall, a solid hotel and we will be staying again on our next flight out of Birmingham

Staff friendly and helpful
The spa stuff is not accessible for wheelchair user
Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was fairly good although the hot food section was lukewarm . Good selection if you get there early. Reception staff were extremely pleasant and friendly.
It was great to have free use of the pool and other areas.
The room was cramped with us having the bed settee in use for children. Room was not prepared for 4 people with only 2 towels and drinks provision was for 2 people. Bed settee is not very comfortable, very hard. We were surprised there was no lift up to the 3rd floor for taking luggage to the room.
Easy to get to. Good facilities, good food and very friendly staff
the rooms were nice and clean

Little dinner options
The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast offered a great variety of dishes to choose from.
I especially enjoyed the jacuzzi, the sauna, and the steam room — they were a wonderful way to relax. I would have loved to swim and unwind there a bit longer, ideally until 10 p.m. Closing at 9 p.m. feels a little early. It might be nice if guests with memberships could use the facilities until around 7 or 8 p.m., and then from 8 p.m. the area could be reserved for hotel guests.
The pool area was also enjoyable, and overall the wellness facilities added a lot to the stay.
I stayed at this hotel for the second time. The first time we really enjoyed it, but the second stay was not as good. The toilet and shower room were extremely small. When you walk in, you practically have to press yourself against the toilet just to close the door — it felt more like a public restroom, which is one thing in a public place, but quite another when you’re in a hotel.
In the shower, I somehow managed to take a shower in the evening, probably because the water had cooled down a bit by then. But in the morning I almost got scalded. At first the water was cold, and then suddenly boiling hot. No matter how I turned the taps, only boiling water came out. I ended up getting wet but couldn’t actually wash, and just wasted my time.
About the pool: there was some sand at the bottom, clearly visible along the edges.
Close to M6
Had the car broken in to !
Helpful staff & clean facilities, good location
Staff were lovely
There was a roof leak
The hotel is very clean. The staff is great. My room was really good. I have no complaints about that. There are only two things I would say he doesn’t have: an elevator, so people have to walk up the stairs, even if they have heavy luggage. Also, the extractor in my bathroom wasn’t working, but, being honest, the overall price-to-quality ratio was really good.
No elevator
