Good value for the location, but not if cleanliness and comfort matter most.

The location was very good. The breakfast selection was wide.

Cons:

Traffic noise was somewhat audible (trams, snowplows), but it did not disturb us much. If this is important to someone, it’s something to keep in mind.

The room looked worn and tired, and it seemed that it had not been renovated in a long time. The bathroom lock did not work. There were also some minor cleanliness issues — for example, there was a brownish streak on the base of the toilet when we arrived. It would also have been helpful to have a shoe rack, doormat, or something similar in the room. Since we visited the hotel during slushy weather, dirty water inevitably melted off our shoes, even though we tried to clean them as thoroughly as possible downstairs (a suggestion: install a bristled shoe cleaner in the lobby — it would make life easier for you as well).

What bothered us the most was housekeeping trying to enter the room starting at 8 a.m. on our last morning. The first time, we were showering, my daughters were sleeping, and the room was dark. Since I wasn’t about to step out of the shower, I assumed whoever it was would leave — but a male staff member entered the room. Yes, he realized we had not checked out, apologized, and left. However, the same thing happened again around 11 a.m., when I briefly went to the shop next door before departure. Housekeeping had entered the room again. It is very strange that there seems to be no communication between housekeeping and reception, who should inform them which rooms are vacated and ready for cleaning and which are still occupied. For me, this was the first time experiencing a hotel with no apparent system for monitoring this.

On our last day, one of the two elevators was out of order, and the other was very small (max. three people or two with suitcases), which caused long waits during checkout. The stairs were inaccessible — although usable during breakfast with a key card, they stopped working afterward. This was concerning given the emergency exit signs instructing guests to use the stairs.

Cons:

Few interactions I had with staff werent very friendly but what I expected. My dad was hospitalised and could have potentially passed away more than a couple weeks before this booking. Naturally I booked a flight immediately home. Whilst I totally appreciate I booked non refundable, I contacted them immediately, explained the situation and offered to provide evidence. The response I got was two sentences - sorry to hear that, contact your travel insurance. Whilst his situation improved and I was still able to proceed with the booking - I felt it was still a little cold considering they may have been able to rebook the room, it lacked a human element.
