Great location amd beautiful views
Pros:

Breakfast hearty & filling. Dinner good but pricey. Wine selection limited and pricey but satisfactory. Great location near the beach for refreshing walks and sea-views. Friendly staff

Cons:

Heating controls in room non-existant (could not reduce temperature). Staff suggestion to "open the window" was insecure (being on the ground floor) but they quickly provided an electric fan. Slow service at high tea in the bar

A relaxing stay with exceptional views, lovely staff and excellent food.
Pros:

Breakfast was first class with a great choice. The breakfast staff were friendly but not obtrusive and very accommodating. All in all, a great experience. I have to also mention the bed and pillows which were the most comfortable I’ve experienced in a hotel.

Cons:

Can’t think of a single thing !

Amazing and will definitely be back
Pros:

Love the hotel itself, rooms are big and the views are immense. Location is brilliant, so close to town yet feels quiet. Great to be right onto the beach

Cons:

The breakfasts have gone downhill I think. The full Scottish was a bit disappointing.

Relaxing Seaside Stay
Pros:

I really enjoyed my stay at the Marine Hotel. I had a beautiful seaside view, which was perfect for enjoying a quiet morning tea while looking out at the sea. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the staff consistently made sure everything was going well during my stay. Access to the pool and spa facilities made the experience even more relaxing and enjoyable.

Cons:

The first room I stayed in had several issues, including a hole in the wall, cracked tiles in the bathroom, and a very loud ventilator. These are not things I would expect from a five-star hotel. Although the staff kindly changed my room after the first night, I believe it’s important to highlight this and hope the hotel considers some investment in maintenance. Additionally, the service at the bar was not at a five-star level — it felt as though inexperienced staff were preparing the cocktails, and the overall service lacked professionalism. The breakfast was acceptable but could be improved, especially with more vegetables and greater variety.

Spectacular hotel and views
Pros:

What a magnificent hotel, grounds, spa and especially the lovely team who work there. Hotel looks out onto the magnificent volcanic rocks which jut out into the sea... and the town itself is beautiful and friendly. Amazing breakfast too.
We loved this trip, can't wait to come back.

Lovely overnight stay
Pros:

Arrived at 1pm with my mother and told us room was ready. Really large king room which was warm. The decor not to our taste but does not reflect the excellent service you get here. Spa was super and I had 2 treatments. The therapist was so nice and my facial was the best one yet.
Ate dinner at the Bass Rock bar had the fish and chips which were a generous size. It’s very dark in here but that’s the ambiance of this hotel.
Breakfast was plentiful friendly staff.
Also parking right across from hotel is a plus.
We will return but try a summer month next time.

Perfect overnight stay!
Pros:

Had a relaxing overnight stay at this beautiful hotel with my husband. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was on the 3rd floor, it was spacious, immaculate and the bed was so comfortable! Brilliant views from the bedroom of the sea! We both had a spa treatment and spent time in the relaxation room, just bliss! We had dinner in the bar, food was delicious! We had breakfast too with lots of variety, perfect sea view again! Would definitely return to this hotel!

Won't be back
Pros:

Extremely run down, dirty windows throughout destroying the USP of the view. Staff were grt but experience over all was no where near a 4 or 5 star reviews sorry will not be back. Too much more out there for that kind of money

80th Birthday trip
Pros:

Located with views to the Bass Rock, North Berwick Law and further afield. We came as a party of 8 plus a dog for a birthday event trip for a few days.
The hotel is traditional in decoration fitting the building and is welcoming, comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well appointed.
The service and friendliness of all the staff was outstanding and not forced either. Breakfasts and dinners were enjoyed by us all, together with the Bass Rock Bar, Snooker Room and Spa.
So many nice touches that elevate the experience.
Our rooms and suite were well appointed, with everything we needed and more.
