Beautiful hotel superb surroundings with amazing courteous friendly..shameabout the menu, why in a4 star hotel in Scotlands ample larder are you doing pizzas for dinner menu..you are in Scotland give me haggis neeps&tatties for heavens sake!🤨
This is the most magnificent hotel I have ever stayed at. I was here 4 years ago and it’s even better than before. I took my wife this time and she absolutely loves the place too. The food is fantastic, the staff are outstanding and the location is the best.
Nothing.
Super room with a view and the location is amazing.
Please put lovely local or Scottish toiletries in big bottles in the rooms. Sell them at reception. The little mini bottles are so old fashioned. The big bottles in the spa are much better but not very luxurious. So many fabulous local soaps.
Beautiful property. Comfy, spacious and exceptionally clean room. Good gym and pool and a fantastic thermal suite. Grounds are beautiful and common areas are lovely and cosy. Great breakfast and great drinks. Good parking.
Drinks were on the pricier side. Food in bar area was nice but portion size was small for the price of the food. Some of the reception staff were not overly approachable but some were amazing.
A good tea experience, but perhaps we should have researched more on the internet beforehand. We enjoyed the traditional tea, with three layered stand, and a whisky dram to accompany the food!
Ask for a box to take home what you haven't eaten!
Amazing hotel with very comfortable rooms and friendly staff
Location was perfect
Decor is dull and very dark for a coastal resort.
Spa treatment was poor quality - inexperienced staff, poor knowledge and confidence. Does not meet the standard you’d expect for the cost. On general service was below par - 40 min wait for bar drinks and wait staff generally not available or attentive - perfect to pleasant just not well trained.
Location - the ocean was worth the price! Breakfast was well done. Staff was exceptional. The hotel is nice if a bit dated.
No air conditioning, and it was hot. Bathroom fan did not work, so it was steamy after showering, too. Rooms were a bit small for the price. Price seems too high for value. Also, almost everything was about golfing, which made us feel a little left out. If you golf, well, it's perfect.
This hotel would not have been worth the cash rate of ~$600 USD per night but we paid with Chase points so it felt more inline with the value we obtained from it. Many of the non-urban / non-premiere hotels (not in the big cities or St. Andrew’s) in Scotland are what I would call “tired” - this property is in that category. The room we had was quite small and the window was stuck either closed or when we had them open it, open (there was no air condition though with the window open we were comfortable). The gym was basically a tired basement studio with the weights. The strongest features were its location and both a lovely lobby area and restaurant, though the back of the booths blocked the beautiful view when you were sitting. The location and staff were nice and the food was fairly good.
Location, charm, big room
A faint mildew smell
Very friendly staff delivering excellent service. The location and views are outstanding with stunning beach walks and an attractive town.
Excellent selection
