Amy at the front desk was amazing. She answered all our questions and provided wonderful insight on North Berwick.
The room with the bath and shower along with the superbly comfortable bed made our stay fabulous.
Everything
The public areas of the hotel are beautiful, the views are unbelievable from main reception/ lobby
The bedrooms and ensuites are dated, felt like a Premier Inn. Definitely not what I expected for what we paid or from having visited other Marine and Lawn hotels recently.
The rooms are stifling. Far too hot. Turned the radiators off completely and theres still heat coming out of them. The windows , whilst original and beautiful, are impossible to open. I tried and failed a couple of times during the night. It was a very uncomfortable sleep.
The service and food and drink excellent !
Ooh the wallpaper was shocking but it suited the whole style !
Le style et la déco étaient exceptionnels, la vue aussi, personnel aux petits soins, excellent petit déjeuner, et spa très agréable
Reception staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and made a great first impression.
Breakfast was really good too.
There was nothing we disliked
Lovely setting and very handy for my trip visiting family
Far, far too hot. Turned off the towel rail and radiator, kept the window open at all times but still far too hot through out the hotel.
This is an on going problem I would say with The Marine, having stayed many times and in different seasons over the years. I’m aware it’s an old building and that it takes a while for the heating to heat up and cool down, but I can honestly say, even in winter, I have never found it cold or even remotely cool.
Great location lovely staff
Nothing
Delicious
The location, view, breakfasts, friendly and helpful staff, easy free parking
Room was exceptionally hot, window difficult to open.
Absolutely stunning views. Beautiful location. Lovely foyer. Rooms were nice.
Mostly though - the staff were unbelievably friendly and down to earth. Not forced - very natural and helpful welcoming and chatty.
Friendly helpful staff.
Nice location.
It felt a little tired and in need of a bit of attention.
An example was the large window(s) needed replacing in reception area which spoiled the lovely view. This seems trivial but I would make it a priority as it’s such a beautiful location.
Great location and rooms. Restaurant is good. Friendly staff.
Can’t fault it. Works well for a family with two small kids.
