Lovely property in a fantastic location. Customer Service needs work.
Pros:

It’s unfortunate that I didn’t have a better experience here. All of the issues that made this a negative experience could have been fixed with a little bit of Customer Service effort. The property is very pretty and it’s a great location right next to the arch and the river. I have loved it here before but I also remembered after I’ve been there for a while that I didn’t like it the last time because of Customer Service issues. I think I’ve been there five or six times.

When I got there, my Comcast wasn’t working on my TV, which was really disappointing. I’d already found out that they were going to be charging me an additional $40 a night for parking that I didn’t plan on and then the Comcast didn’t work. When I called to tell him that at the front desk, he said he’d send somebody up and I said no don’t send anybody because I’m already here with my dogs. And he was quiet for a long time and I just was also quiet waiting to see how long he would just sit there and be quiet and not say anything and it was a while and he finally said well. “Well What do you want me to do about it”? In not the nicest tone. In a voice is that he really couldn’t care less and if I didn’t want anyone to go fix it then why was that even bothering him. The next day when I went out, I stopped by the front desk and I asked them to please send somebody up to the room to fix the Comcast issue on the TV because I was going to be gone for three hours with my dogs. Then on my way out 15 minutes later I stopped by again and I said please don’t forget to send someone to the room and he said he wouldn’t a little annoyed and I thought that’s probably the same guy as from last night. When I got home, I turned on the TV and it still wasn’t working. I called the front desk and I told them it wasn’t working, but I didn’t want them to send a new one up because I was there with my dogs.
I think it was the third day when I spoke with a lady at the front desk. I’m assuming who actually seemed to care about the situation. She was the first person that I had talked to, who even seemed to care. Just caring that it wasn’t working would’ve gone a really long way! And she apologized that it wasn’t fixed. And then she offered me 5000 points later on because of the inconvenience and that was really nice and I was satisfied with that, but I told them I didn’t want anybody to come because I was there with my dogs. The next day somebody texted me and asked about the situation that I said it’s fine. I don’t want you to send anyone. An hour later somebody ignored my do not disturb signs and knocked on my door. I was just getting out of the shower. I was running late for a meeting my dog Bark because that’s what they’re supposed to do when somebody’s at the door and by now I was pretty exasperated with the lack of customer service and continuity of knowledge about the situation. I open the door. I said there’s a do not disturb sign for a reason and I closed it. Sorry to be rude to the guy but really. Don’t ignore do not disturb signs and knock on the door. Especially when I had told several people along the way not to come, that the window of opportunity to fix it was gone at this point.
There was also a rude person at the breakfast. I didn’t catch her name, but she was there on my first morning. There was also a very nice girl at the breakfast and I think her name was either Alejandra or Alexandra. And she was perfectly nice.
I also want to commend some of the concierge’s guys, especially Jeremiah. He was very nice and helpful. But I have to say I don’t like the policy of not being able to have my own cart when I want it to be able to control that and to not have to wait to have a cart. I don’t believe you should be forcing people to use concierge for the carts.

And finally, I have to complain about the FedEx office guy. Wow how rude he was. I had a package sent there from Amazon. It was just a couple little things that probably didn’t even cost $10. I don’t think that guy looked at me one time and I don’t think he said anything other than exactly what he had to. He walked up and stood there looking at me. He didn’t say hi can I help you or anything like that. When I told him what I wanted, he didn’t say let me check or anything. He was just silent and looked down at his computer and then he walked off to get the package without another word. He brought it back up and he said it would be $10 to accept it. I said just send it back.

My frustration with the FedEx guy and with the maintenance guy who knocked on my door, ignoring my do not disturb sign, these things were really a result of a culmination of frustration with a bunch of experiences that didn’t need to be this way. Just a little bit different of a tone of voice with the front desk people or of being a little more forthcoming with what the charges are going to be just a little changes could’ve made this so much better. If everyone there would have been like the lady who contacted me on the second or third day which ever when it was when I spoke with her on the phone and she gave me 5000 points, that person was perfect. And the nice lady at the restaurant, Alejandra or something like that, she was perfect and so was Jeremiah. But the other ones were so distant to the point of being rude that it just overall was not a great experience and I as much as I love the location I would really consider a different location next time, even though I’ve been there five or six times.

Also, there’s not a single outlet next to the bed on the one side! And of course, I discovered that after driving a four hours and setting up the dog beds on the other side of the bed and putting out my work stuff only to Discover, there’s not a single outlet on that side of the bed so I just had to move everything around. It just took a few few minutes, but again, the combination of all of these things that made a great property and a great location not my first choice next time.

Oh, I have one more mention. The gentleman who was doing housekeeping services on my floor. I think it was the second or the third day, he was also very pleasant. English was his second language, but he was nice. You don’t have to speak English to be nice and it shows.

There were a lot of choices for food and there’s a Starbucks there. I’m giving the score a seven out of 10 because of the quality and variety but the inconvenience and the high prices make it a seven for me.I have to say that the breakfast potatoes at that restaurant or some of the best I’ve ever had. I normally don’t even get potatoes but on the last day I tried them and I regretted not getting them every day because they are that good. But the costs are very high. I spent $40 on scrambled eggs, sausage and coffee and milk. And the little store won’t put stuff on the room and they won’t accept cash so the one time I went there I couldn’t buy my stuff because I didn’t have a credit card with me. Oh, and the fruit salad at breakfast was absolutely amazing. There was plenty of fresh fruit and it was just right. They also had a little lettuce salad that went with it and it was wonderful. I wish I had gotten more of those
