We have stayed few times now, it’s exceptional from when you enter until you leave.
Every single member of staff are so friendly especially check in with Rouspet.
The room which we got an upgrade for my husband’s birthday was incredible.
Breakfast was amazing and breakfast staff so friendly and helpful.
Walking distance to absolutely everywhere in the city. Make sure walk around St Stephen’s Green.

Perfect stay in a fantastic hotel
Pros:

Perfect stay in a fantastic hotel. The room was great and very quiet for such a central location. Everything was clean and well maintained. Restaurant was excellent: I enjoyed the Sunday lunch immensely. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Perfect for a short break
Pros:

We stayed for 2 nights and must highly recommend. Great location at Stephen’s Green and short walk to Graffin street. Hotel is luxurious and we stayed in a heritage suite overlooking the Green. We spent a lot of time in the horseshoe bar people watching. Wonderful time.

Excellent stay at The Shelbourne
Pros:

My wife and I had a lovely stay at The Sherborne in mid-January 2026. The hotel is beautiful and wonderfully, centrally located right on St. Stephen’s Green. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Yet another amazing experience, only this time I got to share it with family.
Pros:

Such a pleasure as always.
I stayed at the Shelbourne for my mom's 70th. We had several rooms and the team could not have been more helpful. Between getting flowers and champagne to her room when she arrived, helping us cut up her cake into pieces (including individually wrapping each piece which was amazing) and then helping celebrate her birthday breakfast the next morning, it was a really great stay. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay truly exceptional.

As a native Irishman now living in the US, and someone who has stayed here many times over the years, it’s always a pleasure to return to Dublin and stay at the Shelbourne Hotel. Its location near Grafton Street and Trinity College never fails to slow the pace of the day and remind me how much I miss living in Dublin.

See you again next year.

Go the the Merrion instead for half the price…it’s pretty but it just looks that way
Pros:

Very disappointing stay at this hotel. Purposely booked in what was supposed to be a luxury experience and was “basic” and transactional. I was in town because my son had emergency hospital stay. My first room smelled like a restaurant exhaust, my second room did not have heat (I had to fill the bathtub with hot water to keep the room warm). When I had to extend my stay by 2 days because my so was sick the price for th extra 2 days doubled ! The restaurant feels like a cafeteria with crystal chandeliers and the only authentic vintage items are in the facade of the first few rooms. If you are a corporate American with an expense account and money doesn’t matter…go for it. If you are looking for personalized service and an authentic Irish experience … go to the Merrion instead for half the price.

Pros:

Beautiful spacious room, very attentive and friendly staff, delicious buffet breakfast. Great stay in such a historic and grand hotel with bed turndown service and china cups for tea/coffee at breakfast.

Cons:

Our bedroom was on the 6th floor and it was quite a trek (several corridors and 2 lifts) to the swimming pool and with no directions.
Currently only the pool is open but we were already informed about that.
Also we could not obtain a dinner menu for the Saddle room ( even with helpful staff) and as it was not displayed anywhere and we had no booking we went into town for dinner.

Fabulous and luxurious!
Pros:

We had a wonderful stay at The Shelbourne Hotel. The hotel itself is iconic and everything that we expected. However, what made the trip special was the attentive, friendly and professional staff.

Recent visit
Pros:

My wife and I enjoyed our Dublin visit. We look forward to our next visit.
The hotel - Shelbourne - was somewhat pricy, but well worth it. Excellent location, clean environment and - most of all - friendly staff. We highly recommend The Shelbourn. We look forward to our next visit, hopefully in the near future.

The touches in your room regarding your sheets been turned down on your return to the chocolates on your locker.
Pros:

My Wife & I returned to the Shelbourne for our 5th time celebrating her birthday & as usual this Hotel did not disappoint with the staff going above & beyond to make our stay a memorable one. It was a magical time with the Christmas decorations still up. The Food is excellent & cleanliness exceptional & it’s the small touches to your room that make it in my opinion the best in Ireland. We will be back for sure 👍👏
