I chose this hotel to be near the convention center and to be able to use my Hilton points for one of my 2-night stay. I also thought the complimentary happy hours and breakfasts would offset the 2nd night’s room cost.
The staff were all great—nice, friendly, and helpful. My room was clean and nice.
The negatives—there is NO proper front entrance to the hotel where guests are greeted by bellmen, etc. and guests can off load luggage, etc. I drove to Indy and when I arrived at the address, the “Entrance” sign took me straight up to the 3rd floor entrance of the parking garage/hotel. Again, no bellman available to take my luggage! I self-parked my car, which I expected. I then went back to the hotel and up the escalators to the 4th floor to checkin. I didn’t know I would have to track down a cart in the hotel, ferry it back to the 6th floor of the parking garage to get my stuff, and then find a service elevator to get to my room. WHY WOULD HILTON BUILD A HOTEL WITHOUT A MAIN ENTRANCE? There was an alternate route into the hotel from the street—near the Panera’s and Burlington store entrance. Then, you’d have to wind around through a skywalk for about a block or so. PS—This Panera closes at 7 p.m.
Happy Hour drinks and snacks—not having stopped for lunch on my drive to Indy, I was looking forward to HH. Disappointing, to put it mildly. The food consisted of generic Chex Mix, cheese chunks (no crackers), and some questionable veggies and dip. The drinks were ok. I ended up going over to the Hyatt to get a shrimp appetizer.
Breakfast—was much better with made to order omelets and the usual breakfast bar items. However, I have had as good or better breakfasts at Hampton Inns.
Breakfast was really good and the staff was really helpful
Better signage. It was our first time staying and it’s a little rough when you don’t know what you’re doing.
A very nice lady named Maria came and talked to me and my cousin and was very very kind to us .
Waffles were very dry. If I had ordered the meal at a testeraunt I would not be inclined to order it again.
There isn’t any retail downtown Indy anymore!
Location
Be careful at night!
The service was outstanding! The location is perfect. The breakfast staff was very attentive. I would recommend this as a great place to stay
Felt safe, facilities were clean, friendly staff
Hilton market needs to sell beer.
The overall experience was good.
Cocktail hour and full breakfast.
Im here now, lunch time, restaurants are closed for an event. if you're straying here you will possibly not have dining options. When making a reservations you might want to ask if they have an event that will directly effect your overall stay and amenities they advertise.
We loved this hotel, the rooms are large and well furnished. The bar and restaurant areas are very comfortable. We loved the buffet style breakfast which catered for all tastes and the cocktail hour(s) was simply amazing. The location is next to the Arts Garden and is perfectly placed downtown. We would definitely come here again and would choose to stay at the Embassy Suites rather than other local hotels.
I nearly forgot the pool, that was an unexpected bonus and if you time it right, very quiet
Special mention to Maria and a thank you for looking after our family group at breakfast.
