The man at the check in desk was so incredibly nice, polite and helpful.
The room is low quality.
The location was spot on, the room was very comfortable, and they had a hot breakfast every morning, and the staff did an amazing job to make sure that my wife and I were taking care of, we will be going back to stay again, I recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in Hot springs South Dakota or the nearby areas, Also, the hotel manager, I believe his name was Sash , was always in a positive mood and went the extra mile to make sure your stay was good. On my recent visit I will be giving this hotel , a Six Star rating.

was called at 10:30p on night of arrival to see if i was still checking in. told the guy yes but unfortunately it would be after midnight due to unforseen circumstances. he said okay. he called again at 1130, told him the same thing. he said okay. called me at 1204A to let me know he no showed my reservation and I wouldn't have a room anymore. we drive 9 hours to get there. ended up sleeping in our car. got a room in keystone after that.

Waffles were good. Pillows were great. Staff was super nice. Location was great once you figure the town out. Very good price compared to the rest of the town.
The breakfast was definitely a 3 out of 10. Terrible options. Waffle and eggs was about it. Beside yogurt and dry cereal. No bacon or sausage or ham or any kind of protein. Coffee looked like tea. Juice was more water than anything. Parking was terrible at night. Seems like there are more rooms than parking spots as some poeple had to park in no parking zones/on the street. Dresser made our clothes stink pretty bad. Pretty sure there were sex stains on the couch in our room. Black mold in shower with peeling paint. Overall whole room was dirty. Floors were dirty enough my feet were black after an hour walking on them when I checked in/was unpacking- kept shoes on until bed every night. Wifi wouldn't connect. Sheets were super rough and scratchy, comforter was a thin as a sheet. This was for room 125.

The property didn't have my booking when I arrived. I showed the clerk - Shah - the booking and he nevertheless maintained I did not have a booking. He said he had a room but it was 3 times the rate quoted on my booking, before things escalated when I stood my ground and he asked me to leave the property and threatened to call the police! This was their issue - I had a confirmed booking. Most unpleasant interaction and totally unnecessary. Ridiculous to threaten to call the police and ask me to leave when I was simply trying to stay where I had booked.

The location was perfect for what we needed to do
I was charged before I even checked in. I was not supposed to be charged until I checked in. When I called, they were extremely rude to me.

Breakfast.. Made me wish there were a cheaper, no breakfast option.
The owner was super friendly and clearly knew the area well — we had a great conversation during my stay. The location is ideal as well, only about 15 minutes from Wind Cave National Park. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
