Nice place in the center of Lausanne
Pros:

Almost everything, from the staff to the rooms. Location (center of the city) has two sides: very good, because almost everything is in walking distance but difficult to reach by car (traffic restrictions)

Cons:

Difficult to reach by car. Parking is not very practical if you bring some luggage.

As noted, very helpful and pleasant staff.
Pros:

The staff person who checked us in and the person who checked us out were very friendly and helpful when we needed advice on dinning and directions. The room was clean and well appointed.

Cons:

The portable AC unit was not properly set up. These units need to exhaust to the outside. This one was exhausting into the room. We found a work around but the suite never fully cooled to our satisfaction.

Pleasant stay at Hotel des Voyageurs whose best feature is its central location and pleasant staff.
Pros:

Very central location in the nice quiet central part of town. Close to the main station (only one metro stop away) and a quick run on the metro the the beautiful lake.

Cons:

Unfortunately rooms are not air conditioned and it was very hot in Lausanne. They were not allowed to install central a/c during 2015 renovations but hope to do so by summer 2027.
They provided a portable air conditioner but it was too noisy to run at night.
