Location
It’s so old
Hotel was perfectly located to shopping and very good restaurants. Overall room was too small, however, I don't think hotels in Union Square area offer much space for value. I didn't like bathroom sink, prefer a shower stall over tub, room felt too confined. Furniture was too outdated giving a drabby vibe. I felt the staff were great/pleasant.
Great central position. Spacious room.
Old style bathroom
The proximity to Union Square, a great base for exploring
Nothing not to like
Love the staff
The staff
Great location and room decor & amenities, loved having an onsite restaurant that was quite good. Bed was very comfortable, and we very much appreciated the robes, slippers and microwave. This was hands down the cleanest hotel room we’ve ever stayed in. There wasn’t a speck of dust anywhere, so we were really wowed by that. Taking a bath in the wonderful tub was heavenly, too.
We could really hear the sirens and street noise through the windows, but we managed to sleep fine anyway. A friendly ghost experience in this historical property might have been fun.
We had the opportunity to be taken care of by Irene in the Front Desk. She made us feel we were the most important people in the world. Always smiling and assuring us a great stay, which we had. Thanks Irene!
Love the closeness to Union Square and great restaurants.
Close proximity to Union Square shops and Trolley stops/public transportation
Small rooms, floors were creaky and bathrooms were not updated
A very comfortable room, clean and spacious. room darkening shades were efficient and having a tv and desk to work on were great. the room also had a comfortable sofa, espresso machine and refrigerator .
The location was great and easy access to the financial district. It’s nice to stay in boutique hotels. The rooms were decorated in a chic manner. The staff were incredible- especially Irene at the front desk- she took great care of me! Thank you and I’ll be back!
I had to stay here for a work trip but wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a nice comfortable stay. It feels very cold and older but some modern touches. No water is provided other than a water machine on the 2nd floor. Some rooms are interior facing and feel like a jail cell (I had to move rooms). Every room is very different so you aren't sure what you're going to get. The AC is a window unit so if you're on a lower floor it's very loud and you can hear the street bc the window is not fully secure. I would give this a 3 star hotel experience nad personally would not return.
Everything about it
The parking fee seemed unreasonable. But it is SF
I liked that it was near the Cheesecake Factory since I don't get to eat there very often. Walking around the neighborhood in the evening didn't feel very safe. It was nice being able to park right next door at the Westin Hotel and not having to walk very far to get the car.
I stayed 4 nights at Hotel G during a yearly event at Moscone convention center, along with several colleagues. This has been my best hotel experience so far in San Francisco. We noted that the rooms were clean, the bed comfortable, and the location more than adequate to be walking distance to Moscone and reasonably safe compared to nearby streets, though you should always pay attention. It was easy to find good restaurants nearby for breakfast and dinner. Every interaction with the Staff was pleasant, but they may sometimes be limited by available hotel equipment or policies. My colleagues appreciated their experience and would gladly stay at Hotel G again.
Location
Reception staff is a bit slow and unbothered 🥲
Great location! Block away from union square.
Dislike elevator that you have to use your room key. When checking in my hands a full I’ve tucked away the key only to find out it’s needed to get elevator to move. I understand it’s for the security of staff and guests but I just wish there was another way.
Honestly there is nothing I didn’t like about the property. Except elevator.
