Elegant historical space. Very clean. Friendly staff.
The breakfast was good, but service was a little disorganized. They were kind and earnest.
It’s a big beautiful old building, the staff was so warm and welcoming
The room was a little crammed. There’s a big dresser but based on the size of the bed (we were in a king) that doesn’t leave much walking room. There’s shower also never got hot.
Location I have stayed here many times for over thirty years attending wedding and family reunions. This has always bern my go to .. until this “resfresh” which took a lot of the chacter out of the finishs.
Packed with young child dancers and moms having a dance convention. No service at drop off. Had to carry our own bags. Valet parked $60 ! No rooms left got a room with a view of the roof and HVAC condensers. No hot water on shower in the morning No technician arrived for an hour .., then until five before we were leaving to attend a funeral (Sam at switchboard would not put a call through go the front desk ? Said they were too busy! waits for the slow elevators were epic . 100 percent rigid staff at front desk hell bent on rules which are draconian. Top Management needs to rethink this “AUTOGRAPH” designation if they are selling discounted rooms to the mass convention market -noisy kids and moms all through the stay … poor strategy for a classic hotel My cost way over. $500 for one night (plus parking and breakfast not included) the refreshed rooms look like a corporate interstate hotel/motel and not special . Save your money and ditch this money grab for a real hotel experience
The property was beautiful but we had an issue with the gentlemen who checked us in he was not kind. And in the morning the bathroom had overflowed and the gentlemen at the front desk was no help at all I understand we were checking out but one person being able to shower and the shower over flowing to the point no one else can step into the bathroom is ridiculous.
Staff
Loved the room after we asked to move... second room was awesome with a fabulous view of the area.
The hotel was hard to navigate, it was haunted, the elevator was screaming at me and it would take you to random floors. It also was very dirty and the walls were paper thin. The outlets kept falling out. Horrible experience overall.

Room closed to the elevator
Has the feel of faded glory in a good way. Very close to everything. Very corporate and chain hotel feel to it, but that's probably to be expected dive that is what it is.
The house keeping was minimal. The sofa bed was pretty uncomfortable.
Hotel room was very nice., comfortable beds, nice shower.
Location was not as great as it used to be around this time of year. Construction impeded our entrance to hotel and parking. Area dead at public square. No one around except homeless outside in the square.
We couldn't get into our room , went to the front desk, they said the battery on the door is probably dead. Sent maintenance up to replace battery, that was completed in about 20 minutes. Tried to watch some basketball games on TV, it did not work. Would load for 5 minutes play 30 second of something, then start spinning / loading again.
It was very close to the location of the concert.
It is a little dated. Limited dining options and kind of pricey. Also the parking area was a little off putting.
Stayed here for a dance competition this weekend. Very nice hotel! Even though it looks huge it was super easy & fast to navigate to the different areas of the hotel. We were able to check in early & get a late check out (members). The front desk was super helpful and extremely nice! We had breakfast in the restaurant in the morning and again, super service from all staff members! Food was good, I got western omelet ($17) and the fruit tray ($12) both days. Room is very large! Loved the huge walk in closet! There is a steamer in the closet which was great! I prefer that over an iron. Clean room, comfortable bed & pillows. I did hear some folks complaining about no hot water, we are on 11th floor and no issues at all. Connected to Jacks Casino. There is a Starbucks over there and some other dining options. Returning in April for another competition. Recommend this hotel!
We were here for a dance convention. The hotel is ok but not worth the price. There’s not enough hot water, so my daughter had to take cold showers two nights in a row after dancing all day and was NOT happy. When you’re paying almost $700 for two nights with parking, you’d at least like a hot shower.
The hotel was lovely and clean. Our front desk manager, Ana, was helpful and gave us good recommendations.
When we requested new towels and toiletries they were brought to our room promptly.
The coffee cart in the lobby has coffee and pastries and the restaurant had a good selection. My only complaint is that there wasn’t a hot oatmeal option on the menu.
Everything else was perfect!
Me and my family stayed at the Hotel Cleveland this past weekend (February 14th and 15th) for a volleyball tournament. We loved the historic hotel and the amazing staff that works there. Manager, Sunny, restaurant staff Emily and front desk staff including Adriana were amazing assisting us with any questions. They were very friendly and accommodating.
I travel to Cleveland ~4-5x per year, and I've sampled various hotels in an effort to find a good fit. I may have found it in the Hotel Cleveland as I stayed here for 2 nights recently. The property used to be the Renaissance, but its since undergone some renovations and changed to an Autograph Collection hotel.
I arrived late on Sunday night (11p) but the front desk manager was quite warm and quickly got me checked into my room, 862. The room itself has been tastefully upgraded as it was a spacious king with a nice bathroom. The bathroom was very well updated as I appreciate that they installed the handles on one side with the shower head on the other side...good touch.
Other Pros
- Gym is very large with lots of new equipment.
- Breakfast was quite good although they need to turn the heaters on in the restaurant.
- The bar is spacious and inviting.
Cons
- No one made my room which was surprising. I didn't care since I had to get up quite early to depart.
- Entry revolving door was not working and the other doors were difficult to open.
- Elevators are finicky as sometimes they take your key card.
Overall, I haven't been impressed with any property in Cleveland, but I would return to this hotel as its better than other venues. But they really need to address these service items if they want to elevate their game.
Every team member truly goes above and beyond. From the very beginning, even when I wasn’t fully happy with the initial room, the staff were incredibly understanding and proactive. They offered me several alternative options until I found the one that perfectly suited my needs for a long stay, which I truly appreciated.
A special mention goes to the staff in the breakfast area unfortunately I don’t know their names, but every single one of them was exceptional. Always smiling, kind, and attentive, they truly made my mornings enjoyable. When the breakfast area felt a bit cold for me, they even brought a small heater so I could comfortably enjoy my breakfast, especially as I was often working and staying longer in the mornings.
From the front desk to every department, everyone was consistently accommodating and professional, making the entire stay outstanding.
Thank you all for such a wonderful experience.

Great menu, well executed, and Amanda (our server) was such a delight. Beautiful grand atmosphere too. The malted waffle was delicious. 😋
