It’s a great location, walking to Union Square, great restaurants, the cable car line, BART

Great location & friendly helpful staff. Has a pool table & darts with a wine bar. Super cute pub atmosphere.

Great stay at King George
Pros:

We loved our stay at King George Hotel, staff was helpful and kind, the rooms are clean and comfortable.
The location is great with walking distance to the Marina, cable car, and the restaurants are very good around.
We particularly liked the ambiance of the lobby where you can relax on a couch or play pool/darts, and refill your water.

Disappointing
Pros:

A few nice staff, availability of drinking water and timely serving of the pastries.

Cons:

They held me out of the property for hours on countless occasions because of a payment I had clearly made and they claimed not to have received. I was made to use my card countless times, they are still holding on to my money- 360 dollars.The rooms were very dirty and the noise at night was something else. Well,, it is located on the streets so.i was exposed to all sorts. The pastry servings were timely and okay. I like that water was readily available. I had to go downstairs each time I needed to heat up my food but they provided a fridge. Overall, it didn't meet my expectations

Best staff and rooms!
Pros:

I had an absolutely amazing stay at the King George Hotel! The staff were so wonderful and kind. Even though the photos looked good I was a little worried about the rooms and amenities because it’s an older building, but they have definitely put a lot of heart and investment into upgrading things and the room was very nice and clean! Thank you so much for the lovely stay. Oh and reminder to book direct to help keep the funds local!

Pros:

I booked two beds online and when we checked in I asked, "That's two bed, correct?" The man checking us in said, "Of course" but when we got to the room, it was one bed. When I tried to rectify the issue the manager showed no interest in trying to fix the issue. Even I offered to pay the difference to get two beds she kept going on about why it happened and the we booked through a third party so you couldn't do anything. At no point in time did she show any courtesy or willingness to fix the issue. When I asked for her name, she said, "I am not giving it to you." It was horribly unprofessional and rather than fix any issue she made everything worse by threatening not to help us and then canceling our reservation. She was a horrible person. We ended up staying in a much better hotel. Avoid this one. The area is unsafe at night and the customer service was awful.

The location is close to BART and MUNI and where I needed to be fore work. The room is a nice size and very clean.

Cons:

One slow creaky elevator, narrow spiral staircse makes it hard to take the stairs and carry bags at the same time, mattress and pillows adequate but not great. The shower gel pump didn't work. I couldn't get the captions to work on the TV. No protein available in the free breakfast, But I like this place. I like it better when it's $110 a night than when it's $200 a night.

Very small room. No heaters in the room. Breakfast very limited. No plant based milk available.

Front desk lady was super nice!!!!

Cons:

Room was small and the beds were small. There was no heater working and it was really cold. Had to call the front desk with the phone in the room. The phone didn’t work. Had to call from personal cell phone for them to pick up. Space heater was provided which helped but for the price (1,300+ a night) it was not great. Breakfast was limited. Non dairy milks weren’t available as well as simple things like maple syrup. Carpets in the room were super dirty and no sleepers were provided during the stay. I would not recommend staying at this place.
