Good place for a short stop, with good.
Pros:

The room was clean and tidy, the food at the pub for the evening was good and the breakfast very nice.

Cons:

Having two bikes to store securely overnight meant that the room became very snug, but they were secure. With the location of the accommodation next to the main car park, we anticipated some noise as the pub shut, but it was very peaceful

Nice stop off for a long journey
Pros:

Breakfast was very good, restaurant closed before we arrived on Sunday evening so nothing was available other than crisps and peanuts. The room was compact but clean and comfortable. Character building and rooms.

Cons:

No option of a sandwich etc for late arrivals

Friendly Pub with Very Tired Rooms
Pros:

The Swan has many positive aspects but stingy investment and poor maintenance of the rooms continue to spoil the experience.
The pub itself is fine with a spacious garden and plenty of parking. Hayley and her crew give a very friendly and helpful welcome and the food is good and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, a stay cannot be recommended unless the pub's proximity to the train station outweighs the very poor quality of its rooms. While tiny, these have everything, including nice large baths and generous showers. They've been redecorated since our two stays last September, and the linens replaced, but still need serious attention. Unaccountably, their rotting entrance doors have not been repaired or painted or their entry locks oiled.
Our first room (6) was better but its bathroom badly needs new grout and a torn curtain does not improve a tiny window. Room 4 was awful. I felt the bed springs as soon as I sat on the bed and got a sharp pain in the night from an errant prong. Torn fabric exposing the bed's frame shows it's ancient age. A router, fallen from the ceiling, lay propped on the windowsill. Maybe that’s why WiFi was so poor? Screws on the window locks were mostly loose. A very bright emergency light above the bed cast a ghastly green pallor over the room and made it difficult to sleep. The rooms have no air conditioning so were very hot but they do have fans. These help, but thin sheets are not available to replace the thick duvets better suited to cold winter nights.
The Swan is very convenient for travelers and we were not disturbed at all by the nearby trains so it's hard to understand why Marston’s Inns does not do more to capitalize on the pub’s attractions.

Gauw overslaan of je moet niets anders kunnen vinden
Pros:

Eigenlijk niets. Het heeft potentie maar helaas wordt daar niets mee gedaan. Het is £20,= per nacht waard ipv £105,= l

Cons:

De kamer klein en bedompt. Toilet spoelde niet, lage waterdruk op kraan en douche. Haren in bad, schimmel overal, vieze vloerbedekking, toegangsdeur verrot. Eten in restaurant matig (vlees te lang doorgegaard)

Pros:

Staff were lovely and helpful room was lovely and clean
Elliot was especially helpful and mark the cleaner
The chef Haydens food was amazing
The food throughout our stay was amazing

Cons:

Circulation was poor in the room
We had to keep on asking staff to open the door as the people before us lost the key to the door so we had to keep asking for our room to be opened. They did try to get it fixed while we was there but they was unable to fix it at that time as needed another part.
Got bitten by something while I was sleeping ended up with two red bites on my legs

Friendly staff, basic accommodation. Feels a bit like a motel.
Pros:

Usefully located near the station, pub adjacent

Cons:

Very small rooms which open directly out to a car park. It is by a roundabout which is quite busy so there is traffic noise. No aircon and feels a little risky to leave window open overnight due to location. Neighbouring rooms v audible. Breakfast very basic, they only had instant coffee.

Sorry, you need the accommodation unit refurbing.
Pros:

We booked to stay at The Swan for 2 nights due to the close proximity to a family wedding we were attending. Our party consisted of 4 adults and a one year old, for which we brought our own travel cot. ( Which was a tight squeeze for anyone contemplating doing the same.)

I was going to write an in-depth description, but in a shorter form...
It's a basic, overpriced room, which got very warm, even with fans. (which had to be requested) with the green emergency light issue still not rectified.
The separate building where all the rooms are is in desperate need of maintenance / upgrading, on the whole from the outside it looks shabby. Our door was rotting. The photos also make the rooms look considerably larger than what they actually are.

Breakfast was okay on the whole, but it is not self service as the photo on the website suggests, there wasn't a full choice of cereal and the poached eggs were more like poached yolks.
The staff were friendly and approachable but we wouldn't stay here again.
