Every thing was great
we got parking pass for two days but has big problem for finding space in parking, it was so confusing
Stayed one night for business. Rooms have been renovated and are modern, spacious and super comfortable.
I had a room with a gorgeous view of parliament and the river.
I was impressed with the hotel and staff. I must mention that Naveen, the evening manager was especially professional and helpful. I recommend the hotel but avoid the restaurant. Dinner was a waste of money.
The pool and teen area were good experience for my children
Location was v good
When I booked, I clearly indicated that we were two adults traveling with two children (ages 13 and 16), and the final price was confirmed accordingly. However, at check-in, the staff argued that breakfast was only included for children under 12 and initially refused to honor what was agreed upon. After some back-and-forth, they made an exception “this time,” which felt unprofessional and unnecessary. This was my first visit, and unfortunately, the handling of this situation left a negative impression.
We were travelling with 3 generations of one family and there were activities for all of us.
The parking entrance/exit was tight. We were glad our car fit through.
My experience at the Ottawa Marriott Hotel in October 2025 was not just disappointing—it was genuinely alarming.
During my stay, a wooden plank from the ceiling fell and struck my head and shoulder. In the process, broken glass became embedded in my hand—glass that had to be removed the following day. This was not a minor incident. It was a serious safety failure with real physical consequences.
What made the situation worse was the hotel’s response. The incident was later described to me in a way that significantly downplayed what actually occurred, which was both inaccurate and deeply frustrating. Rather than acknowledging the severity, the communication I received felt dismissive and, at times, frankly insulting. The tone and handling by management, particularly from Katerina, lacked the professionalism and empathy one would expect in response to a guest being injured on the property.
Even more concerning is what happened next: nothing.
After clearly outlining the facts, correcting the record, and formally requesting escalation to corporate, I received no response. Not even an acknowledgment. Just silence. For an incident involving physical injury and repeated safety concerns, that lack of follow-up is unacceptable.
It is also important to note that this was not my first safety issue at this property. On a previous stay, a staff member entered my room unannounced in the middle of the night while I was sleeping. To experience a second major safety failure at the same hotel is beyond concerning.
As a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite member, I have consistently trusted the brand for its standards and service. This experience has significantly shaken that trust. A small gesture of points does not come close to addressing the seriousness of being injured by a structural failure in a hotel room, nor does it excuse the complete lack of accountability afterward. Katerina Oblakova - Front Office Manager, was completely insulting.
Hotels are meant to be places of safety and care. In this case, both failed—twice.
I strongly urge both the property and Marriott corporate to take this seriously and ensure no other guest has to go through something similar.
Comfort, location, parking available, functionality of the room
Construction noise, water outage
Facilities were good. Took three grand kids for stay and play. They had a great time.
The fitted sheets on the beds were too small so were not properly fitted to mattress. Corners at one end could not be tucked in.
Had to change rooms 3 times(flooded bathroom, broken patio door). Double charged me and took 10 days to see a refund. Fire alarm at 11:00pm that forced me out of my room until 1:00am the next day.
Le personnel unilingue anglophone sans courtoisie ni compassion et le manque de ventilation dans la salle de bain.
