Koora Hotel by Sandglass

Room was smaller than expected but it was clean. TV did not have cable but Netflix and Prime video so more than ample. Dining staff were world class and meals well presented. If a person is handicapped some of the walkway could be an issue with the grade. Front desk staff (starts with an M) was quick efficient and a terrific representative for the accommodation. Overall We liked this place. The roads were a bit of a challenge but just take your time and you will be fine. I would certainly recommend. Watch for their 2 nights and 1 free. We missed that one but oh well. Pathways and hiking are nice but the chance of seeing a sloth in the wild has less odds than finding Jimmy Hoffa. Do yourself a favor and go to the sanctuary next door and pay $ as it was totally worth it and we saw 12 sloths.. Have a great trip

El servicio fue excepcional en todo momento. Las habitaciones son amplias, cómodas y con una vista impresionante al bosque nuboso de Monteverde, lo que convierte cada amanecer en algo mágico. La propuesta gastronómica del restaurante es deliciosa, con platos frescos y muy bien preparados. Además, la ubicación es perfecta: rodeada de naturaleza pero a pocos minutos del centro de Monteverde. Sin duda, un lugar para volver y recomendar al 100%.

The hotel is located in the cloud forest, and the rooms face the cloud forest, with a beautiful environment.

The property design is gorgeous. The rooms are stylish and comfortable with throw blankets, French presses and sleek furniture with warm touches of wood. The restaurant is outstanding. And the staff is attentive and caring. The views rain or shine are amazing. A very special place! Thank you!

Our family had a wonderful stay at Koora Hotel in Monteverde. The suite was spacious, beautifully designed, and offered breathtaking views of the cloud forest and beyond.

The location is ideal—close to town and major attractions, yet peaceful and surrounded by nature. We especially loved having both the Aguti Biological Reserve and the Natuwa Wildlife Sanctuary right next door, where we enjoyed scenic trails and spotted local wildlife up close.

The service was excellent, warm, and attentive throughout our stay. The breakfasts were delicious, and the bar and restaurant were a great place to relax in the evenings.

Koora Hotel offers the perfect combination of comfort, convenience, and natural beauty—a great choice for families visiting Monteverde.

Beautiful property in a forest setting. Rooms are top notch with gorgeous views. Staff was amazing with helpful tips for tours, arranging a personal guide. Restaurant and food was very nice. Great location in the heart of Monteverde!

Great view and spot!

Wonderful! Definitely a high end experience. The stuff was so attentive. The property was beautiful and covered in vegetation. We were literally staying in the rainforest.

This is great hotel with natural beauty and excellent food

We stayed during Costa Rica’s rainy season and were pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade during check in. The service was great and the staff was very personal, remembering our names, room number, and even where we had sat in the restaurant for breakfast! Complimentary access to the nearby nature reserve was a great bonus, and we were able to spot coatis and an agouti during our stay. Highly recommended!

Great hotel

We were a party of 4 and had an amazing time at Koora Hotel. It was in a great location for hiking, ziplining, horse-riding, night hike etc. The Natura sanctuary was amazing. Only comment was that the Aguti trail could be better signed posted. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. We were also able to order breakfast early at 6.15 am as we had an early hike start. We would highly recommend Koora Hotel.
