We stayed 10 nights in this magnificent 4-star hotel. But what made our stay 5-star was the kindness, helpfulness and fantastic smile of Dario, who was always ready to make us feel at home. We will definitely be back next year.
Best regards
Kenny
Beautiful hotel in gorgeous location next to the beach, walking distance to piazza and Marina.
Agata our maid was fantastic! The nicest lady I've ever met, cleaned our room daily, changing towels, fresh toiletries, helped me get mozzi spray when local supermarket sold out!
Dario on reception was also wonderful, so helpful giving us map to tour area, very professional, friendly, always welcoming.
Would definitely return! Tante grazie!
We have just returned from a week at Acacia Palace, a lovely hotel in a great location. My advice would be to just do bed & breakfast, the breakfast buffet was good, but the evening meals were terrible, with little choice and most of it cold. My husband would normally eat anything, but even he refused to eat one of the freshly made pasta dishes. After paying for the half board and trying for the first few nights, we ended up eating out for the rest of our stay. There are plenty of places to eat locally, and some nice restaurants down in the harbour.
The rooms were spacious, bright & contemporary. A lot of thought has been put into the design and accessories. Comfortable large beds too. Lush, mature gardens & beautiful pool. Free on site parking.
Overall this was a very good hotel, however the evening buffet was disappointing.
Pool and rooms excellent for week chill
Lovely room overlooking beautiful gardens, friendly helpful staff, excellent breakfast, we were only bed and breakfast, as there are lots of restaurants, within walking distance of the hotel, convenient supermarket just 200 yards from the hotel, plenty of sunbeds conveniently spaced, buffet type dinner, very good, but we only ate there a couple of times
We are now back from spending 10 days at the Acacia Palace, we booked lateral sea view on a B&B basis we were lucky we got the first one on the side room 343, so a lovely view out to sea and the neighbouring tennis club very entertaining, room smaller than photo advertised, the ones photographed on their website are of the front jacuzzi rooms I expect much more space, this didn't bother us to much but at the same time its bad advertising you should show all the rooms, after a few minor glitches in the room that I have to say were sorted straight away we had no problems at all, the cleaner and reception staff were all very good.
Breakfast was absolutely fine coffee was fine juices were a bit watered down, the location is excellent for the beach and the promenade takes you on a lovely walk in the evenings up to the main square and the Marina, we loved it there, ate there every night, one restaurant was called Tarroco did some fabulous dishes and we found 2 great bars for chilling out beforehand, one was overlooking the Marina for cocktails and Brushetta, small name and it began with a H ! cannot remember Bar's name but worth it for the Brushetta before 7.30pm.
We went into Ibla old town on the local bus very easy and cheap to do lots of steps once there but worth it when you get to the top. It was very hot when we were there last week so did not do as many trips out as planned so instead we enjoyed more beach and pool days chilling the days away it was fabulous made a change from rushing around trying to see all the sights, so for a quiet chilled out holiday with lots of great food this is the place to go.
Lovely hotel, great location, comfortable and clean room.
We were on half board, both breakfast and dinner were very good.
In the evening there was a buffet with a wide range freshly cooked Italian dishes which were delicious (be aware if you are looking for burger and chips you will be disappointed). There was a freshly cooked to order different pasta dish each day which was fantastic.
The pools were clean and warm, never crowded and despite the hotel being apparently nearly full there was never any difficulty getting sunbeds.
The beach associated with the hotel was good value for sunbeds plus parasol and the sandy beach and shallow sea were both clean and very nice.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful, particularly on reception when giving travel tips and a shout out to the excellent barman plus our lovely cleaner.
Only negative was the poor quality fruit juices (which tasted like undiluted squash) from the machine at breakfast
Acacia palace facilities are shared with Acacia Marina hotel so don’t expect it to be quiet , both hotels combined have several rooms therefore several people. Not the quiet hotel that Jet2 described. The room was clean & towels changed daily. The pool towels if you want changed will cost you 3 euros! If you want to use the safe in your room that is extra too. The drinks at the bar were not of good quality. Oh & you have to pay to use the hotels beach - a half day = 10 euros full day =20 euros
Nevertheless we found a very good restaurant called La Falena & visited several times
Location was great
Very expensive drinks at the pool area, definitely not vale for money
All facilities very clean. Very respectful staff and helpful. Very satisfied overall.
Plastic cups near pool areas too cheep for the service charge paid to have a drink in that area.
Very pleasant stay of bed and breakfast. The selection was incredibly good for breakfast. The room was a good size. The adults only pool was very relaxing and the loungers awesome, we loved the jacuzzi chair and jets as well as the pool jacuzzi. Some tweaks would be no extra cost for the safe box and free beach towels. The room towels and bedding being changed every 3 days was not a problem for us. We went on a couple of excursions which were excellent. We also splashed out on a couples massage which was very pleasant. We found all the staff lovely, especially Stella on reception as well as Gianni and Barbara on the bar. Overall a very relaxing stay and would thoroughly recommend the hotel and area.
Room was very nice with comfy bed. Bathroom was a little small but functional and shower was great. Breakfast was OUTSTANDING with lots of options to choose from. Great pools to relax and 3 min walk to beach with restaurants nearby.
Acacia palace and marina are lovely hotels with no differentiation between the two except the bedrooms (separate blocks). The pools are bigger than the photos look and the grounds immaculate. Staff very friendly and helpful.
We visited the first week of summer holidays and we could get a choice of sunbeds for 4 of us all day at whatever time we wanted.
The beach set up is perfect and you can hire beds for half a day for €10 for two beds. Or full day €20. We found the umbrella to provide enough shade for 2 by moving sunbeds accordingly. The beach has large rocks to one side giving it a cove like feel. Sandy beach.
The local area is where Sicilians holiday and is buzzing with Italians on holiday. Restaurants are decently priced, only €7 for a large margherita pizza but the choices are pizza or seafood. We had to research to find lasagne, ravioli, pasta. We recommend Frangipane (pasta, lasagne, pizza, burgers) and Tosto (pizzas and steaks) by the harbour. There are some cheaper plastic chair restaurants as you walk along into town but keep going.
There’s a nice square with more restaurants and bars just before the harbour. Plenty of places for gelato.
Ragusa Ibla old town half hour away is lovely. We ate before but wish we hadn’t as lots of lovely restaurants there to choose from.
The only negative of the holiday is the extortionate unbelievable taxi prices of Sicily. To go half hour away to Ragusa ibla it is €140 return, same to Modica nearby.
We ended up hiring a car for €75 per day arranged by hotel. The driving locally was fine, lack of road markings at junctions but felt safe. If you visit Modica we recommend the land train to see the views. We also enjoyed a visit to Punta Secca 10 mins away which has a beach and is famous for Montalbano filming. Also, Donnafugata Castle 20 mins away was well worth a visit.
Overall a lovely holiday with fantastic pools, beach, promenade walk with restaurants and local areas to visit, but hire a car.
Most families at the hotel had older children and walked along beach for evening restaurants. No evening entertainment or pool activities which suited us but consider if you have younger children if you’d like this quiet relaxing hotel.
Lovely rooms and pool area, brilliant staff but that's all. We paid a LOT of money for a good pool & a nice room. The drinks weren't nice, super strong and lack of decent mixers. The food is bare minimum if you have any kind of dietary requirement. Eggs and cold meats, fruit and yoghurt isn't worth the price tag. The staff work hard and tried their best & they work long hours for what I can imagine is meadocre pay.
The local area is run down but busy & a gorgeous beach so that's a plus! However, if you're celiac there's no restaurants you can eat at safely. We chose to leave early because we ended up surviving on snacks from local shops for two days, the food situation was that dire. Its not the staffs fault & if you're normal dietary wise you'll have a stunning holiday!! The management and higher ups need to sort the food out & pay the staff more. I saw older gentlemen who should probably be retired working from 8am till 11pm!!
