Blazing lights in the hall light up the room. (Scary bright). No way to stop the light.
These are ‘pub’ rooms. Very very basic. TV sort of worked- also mounted in a weird spot.
The management, bar & bistro staff were great & our bistro meals were 10 out 10 !
Unfortunately there was a live band playing until 1am, no sleep, even though management was kind enough to realise this & moved us to another room on check-in.

The guy who gave me the keys was friendly. Couldn't find any accommodation as passing through and last room on booking.com
The price added for own bathroom which was disgusting dirty hair all around and a used toilet which hadn't been flushed. No windows, room was dirty with hair on/in the bed. Pillows stunk. Rat baits on the floor. Towels were stained small bathroom windows which couldn't shut so very noisy. Fridge was dirty room stunk. Was only passing through as driven from Melbourne-Brisbane this was the last room on booking.com and was late drove around but no vacancies. Not worth the 120$ and some dodgy people around. Left early to continue my drive. Would not recommend it to anyone. Customer service was excellent by the guy at reception. Only good thing.
Located in the centre of Dubbo makes for a very convenient visit. Onsite facilities are good as was the food in the Bistro. Staff are friendly and helpful. Access to the verandah which surrounds the rooms offers good views.
At the time of my visit The Castlereagh was undergoing extensive renovations which is needed, unfortunately this means there is little to no onsite parking (Tradies have to park somewhere too) The hotel is rather old and does need an update hence the reno's but I had a single room that was pretty cheap given the location.
Great spot,great pub and people
Excellent location, safe parking and accommodating staff. Staff were prepared to change my room after I expressed some concern about allocated room.
