I am a titanium member of the Bonvoy program and travel weekly all over the country. Using that as a reference I will share that the staff here is fairly conceded/snobby. I get that it’s La Jolla, but I live in La Jolla..so I was not impressed. This place is fine for business but I would look elsewhere if I were booking for vacation. The customer service is not it. Plus $50 a night for parking is a little steep.

Marriott La Jolla exemplifies the high quality of Marriott properties. You are welcomed by a friendly and super helpful front desk staff. Through my week of stay, thank you to Angel at the M lounge, for taking care of all of us with a smile, even at such early morning hours. And to the housekeeping staff, thank you for adjusting to my schedule to service my room. After a long day of work, it was so nice coming back to a fresh and clean room! I will definitely stay here the next time I am back in town!
I loved the location it was great, near the beaches the mall and so pretty! The loby was nice and parking was cheap.

The property feels old and poorly maintained. Dusty hallways, dark lighting, and a constant chill made the entire place feel unwelcoming. the hotel was busy, yet it felt like a ghost town. There was movement everywhere, but somehow it still felt lonely and disconnected.
The staff seemed overwhelmed and understaffed, which showed in the rushed atmosphere. Everything felt cramped, tired, and past its prime.
Overall, it was a cold, dark, and uncomfortable stay. Not somewhere I would choose to return to unless absolutely necessary.
I was here years ago. Came back with the promise of a renovation. Was told by everyone that it is in progress. I’m not sure where they’ve started as this place is extremely run down and dusty. Tear it down and start over. People are nice but nothing above and beyond. The people seem tired. I guess the building is rubbing off on them. Not worth what I spent and not worth coming back. Renter beware.
I stayed here in the past and did not have any complaints. This time around was weird. While checking in, I inquired about a late check out. The woman kept telling me to check in the morning to see what they can do for me. She said that she doesn’t know how checks outs work since she only works nights. I took her response as a preemptive no. I don’t know what asking in the morning would have changed. It was quite a peculiar interaction. I kept thinking about it but didn’t want to make a big deal. Just thought I’d share my experience.

Room and service were great! We had a great view of La Jolla. Our attendant in the M Club Lounge was wonderful, will definitely be returning.

I recently attended an event at the San Diego Marriott organized by Carlos and Dion from Amuse Bar. The food and drinks were enjoyable, and the service was friendly and efficient. The event was well-executed, demonstrating their effective management and enhancing the overall experience.
I had a fantastic experience at Amuse restaurant thanks to Dion, the manager. He struck the perfect balance between professionalism and genuine friendliness, making the entire visit feel welcoming and relaxed. His kindness and great service really elevated my evening.
My dad was at the VA LaJolla and my stay at the Marriott was great! Tony, Dion and Fernando were so helpful with things to do while I was here and provided great hospitality during my stay. The hotel was nice the service was great, the food Anna drinks were amazing as well!
