Beacon Grand, A Union Square Hotel

Bathroom is exceptionally small. Very little room to move about. Not much space for toiletries etc. As we were only staying 2 nights we didn't mind too much but it would have been very frustrating for a longer stay. Two holes in the bathroom ceiling leaked water when we showered. We figured out that it was old piping that hadn't been sealed off.

Less expensive parking

It would have been helpful to have additional lighting in the entryway since that is the only mirror outside the bathroom. Rooms are small and the bathroom barn door and partial glass shower door were odd choices, given neither fully enclosed their respective spaces. For such a luxury, legacy hotel it was surprising that there weren’t more amenities like guest bathrobes and slippers, envelopes for tipping cleaning staff, and more bathroom items.

The lack of sleep from noise all night outside. 15th floor..... 3 nights. Terrible.

Das Valet-Parking mit ca. 80 USD/ Tag erschien uns ziemlich viel, sodass wir ein öffentliches Parkhaus gewählt haben, was auch ziemlich teuer ist (ca. 45 USD für 24 h).

Lobby was always a little cold

The room was very small. The window overlooked the courtyard where there was garbage and it was not nice. The overall impression was not pleasant because of the size of the room.

I have zero complaints

The room was very small and could do with a fresh coat of paint, as whoever had painted it prior shouldn't be a painter it was awful.The bathroom was tiny. We could hear the TV from the adjoining room through the walls when we were trying to sleep.
I thought the corridor to the rooms was dark and dingy. We did not enjoy the breakfast in the restaurant at all. My husband ordered eggs overeasy with bacon and toast, and he got cold bendable toast unbuttered with bacon that was so overcooked and greasy eggs. The waiter was unfriendly and basically rude. When I asked for a teaspoon for my tea, he pointed at a dessert spoon on the table and said, "You can use that one. that's not acceptable from a 4-star hotel. All other staff members were polite, but we did have an instance of a housekeeper coming into our room at 6.30pm while we were napping on the bed we have no idea why because we could not understand what she wanted. Our fault for not putting the do not disturb sign on the door but at 6.30pm we didn't expect someone to open our room door and walk in. I've never experienced that in any other hotel we have ever stayed in.We were disappointed to be honest with the hotel. I would give it 3 stars. It's definitely not a 4-star hotel in my books. I know I'm being very critical, but I'm honest with all the comments I've made in this review.

Espace commun (couloir) peu nettoyé.

My room was a bit dirty when I arrived, which really disappointed me. However, the staff helped me right away with securing a spotless new room. Other small thing is that the design of the bathroom was strange, as the glass covering the shower still let a lot of water out onto the floor.
