This is our third or fourth time staying at the seahorse and a bit disappointed in the upkeep of rooms.
Pros:

Excellent location.

Cons:

Smaller room than expected even though it had an ocean view. The refrigerator didn’t work properly and froze most of our food. There was a drippy faucet in the bathroom, and under the floor under the bed was not very clean.

Wonderful stay
Pros:

Our stay with the Sea Horse Resort was great. The location was a walking distance to the pier, restaurants and coffee shops.
The resort’s location is so close to the ocean that you can see the sunrises and sunsets and listen to the waves all the time!
Our room was very clean and comfortable. We had everything that we needed including lots of fresh ocean air.
The management also was able to do a complimentary change per our request since our originally booked room did have a kitchen. We really appreciated and enjoyed it.
Thank you the Sea Horse Resort, we want to come back!

Horrible Experience
Pros:

We have been staying at the Seahorse Inn for approx 15 years. We love the location. This time was the worst experience we have ever had with regards to service/being able to reach anyone. I am going to keep this brief, parking spot was taken, tried to call no answer, called the emergency contact number no answer, called the Sheriff's department to have the car towed, hotel has to do it. Try to find parking close in San Clemente on a holiday weekend, impossible. Multiple times requested towels, never came, requested toilet paper, never came, requested bed sheets to change our own sheet($400 per night should come with service), brought me only a mattress cover. 3 times walking to office only to find the "back in 5 minutes sign". Good luck, more like 15 to 20 minutes. My stay was over $2100. I will never stay there again! Did I mention the cigar smoker downstairs forcing us to keep out windows closed because the room smelled like smoke? I could go on a lot more......good luck if you choose the Seahorse Inn!

Great place to relax and enjoy beautiful views
Pros:

My husband and I stayed in room 5B, for 5 days. We booked directly on the website. Our room was exactly as pictured on the website. The room was clean, right across the street from the beach, had a beautiful view from the balcony, had a nice retro design, and had the amenities that we needed. We loved the location because we could walk to restaurants, cafés, a convenience, store, the pier, and the beach. The hotel is on the street directly in front of the beach. We did hear some traffic, but it did not bother us. The staff was also very welcoming and attentive. We will definitely be back.
