Comfort Inn, Erie - Near Presque Isle

Even though this was out of their control, my zen time is lounging by pool. However, due to the heat the pool closed for quite a bit due to chemical imbalances. Again, no fault of theirs...just disappointed (I did get pool time in eventually)

We left after 10 minutes because we didn't think it was safe to stay with our children, trying to get money back from booking.com because the hotel refused our cancellation despite multiple huge issues. Arrived to an hotel overgrown with weeds, lights hanging off the sides of the building, outdoor locks ripped off, a man standing outside in a tank top and cargo shorts smoking a cigarette asking me "are you trying to check in?", which after a few minutes inside, I realized he was the front desk staff. First room we were given was unmade, not cleaned, no sheets, I informed the front desk and he argued with another staff member for a few minutes over whose responsibility it was to clean, who then complained about having to put her shoes on, and both acted like I was lying about it being unmade, then eventually checked and only then apologized. He handed me another room key with no apologies, which we entered to a horrible stench of bodies, every single surface stained, dust and hair everywhere, the fire alarm not on, sprinklers hanging out of the ceiling, mold clearly visible on all surfaces of the bathroom with paint peeling, and best of all, no door lock. So no exterior locks, no door lock, and on the first floor with 2 toddlers with staff who clearly don't monitor the goings on. I went back immediately and asked for a cancellation and Rudy said "you can leave, but you're still going to have to pay." So, in the interest of safety, we left, immediately called booking.com.

The LG televisions in the rooms are really outdated. I wish there was a gym in the facility.

The room was dirty - a roach was crawling across the desk, other people's left behind items were in the drawers (making me wonder if any real cleaning had been done), there was trash on the floor under the desk, squished blueberry muffin (I think) on the bathroom floor. Second room had sheets on one bed that were stained yellow and also had mildew stains on the side.

Some mechanical issues.
Bathroom not completely clean.
Carpets dirty.
Order of room musty.

My fiance couldn't eat the eggs, he said they weren't cooked enough.

Bathrooms had no exhaust fans so showers left the rooms terribly humid and never dry. After 3 days everything felt damp. The walls in the bathroom were always damp.

No complaints.

Dated, patched hole in bathroom, lack of signage. Grass not cut around picnic tables, cloudy pool water.

Fresh fruit wasn’t available when we had breakfast.

A/C in room seemed to struggle to keep up to cool off the room but other than that everything else was good

Room service was not what we expected, bed was not made, towels ere not changed. We had to go to the service desk for fresh towel

It’s a little bit noisy but I don’t expect anything cause it’s not a 5 star hotel
