Spacious room with kitchen facilities. Close to beach.
Could not pay with credit card. Cards would not work on their system despite using same cards immediately before and after trying to pay. Hotel insisted it was our cards and not their system which was nonsense. Would not let us into our room until we got cash from an ATM and paid. The hotel needs better systems and attitude.

Everything was lovely
I've been to Jaco twice now and never saw this hotel, mainly because it's in an alleyway that is easy to miss if you don't pay attention. I'm VERY HAPPY to have stayed there! This hotel is rather simple, in that there are no "luxury" amenities like infinity pools, bar pool, exotic gardens, etc. but that's what makes it so special. You get good-sized rooms (bungalow style), each a unit in itself, with a small kitchen with big fridge and bar-like seating counter. Bathroom could be a bit bigger, but shower is plenty big. Plenty of windows and AC works fine. TV was present but I never turned it on. Nice sitting area in front with rattan chairs and table. Pool was small but nice to take a dip in, and the garden area around the complex was relaxing and gave a peaceful ambience to the property, especially when you consider that it lies in the heart of bustling Jaco! Finally, the price paid for the location was excellent. The beach is only a two minute walk from the hotel, maximum. Jaco's main strip is half a block away, so position is exceptional. Overall, I'll be looking for Tropical Garden Hotel when I return to Jaco. Without hesitation.
My only complaint is that the room needs more lighting in the bedroom area. The kitchen and bathroom are plenty bright but there's only a small tableside lamp to light the entire bed area! Not sufficient. The kitchen lights do illuminate the bedroom but it's still dark to read there. A simple light above the bed, or on the fan, would be needed.

El guarda que lo recibe a uno si hace el check in en la noche NO CONOCE LO QUE ES UNA BUENA ATENCIÓN AL CLIENTE, deberían de enviarlo a que lleve un curso de Atención al Público. Además, al llegar en horario fuera deberían oficina, el que atiende es el guarda y no le aclaran que ÚNICAMENTE se le puede pagar con efectivo y se puso muy malcriado.

Very close to the beach and city centre. So walkable.
Communication for late check-in is very confusing. We have not been communicated in advance that they would not be able to pay by credit card outside normal check-in hours. We find it a bit strange to be asked to hand over cash in USD to the security guard in the middle of the night without getting any receipt in return.
Pool and property were so quiet! Staff were very kind as well. We enjoyed looking for iguanas and geckos outside. AC is great and the rooms were very clean. We ate out but there is a fridge and kitchenette in the rooms, so you could cook something if you like.
Lots of mosquitos - bring bug spray!
