Location from cruise terminal. Mark at the counter tried his best and was helpful printing our luggage tags.
It was a MOTEL. And although the room had been recently remodeled, the rest of the hotel was not. Breakfast was horrible. And I’m not picky. Your choice of fruit loops, toast or make yourself waffles with no butter available and syrup kept running out because so many people were choosing to eat that only choice!
Ohhh and our beds did not have comforter or blankets. On a day it was freezing in Galveston!! And the worst pillows I have ever slept on. And I’m 63 years old!!
The staff was friendly. The location was convenient.
I probably had 12 emails and texts from them. That is excessive and I didn't feel free to block or ignore them because I did need the reservation.
The property seemed run down in general. The paint, cleanliness and amenities were shabby. There were no cups or blankets in the room, the breakfast bar was skimpy. In general, it just seemed like economy was the main priority in running this place.
Good location.
It is very misrepresented by their photos on this platform. We went to the front desk to request extra pillows and we were told to come back in half an hour. Not even a “we will get them for you”. Their hospitality skills were lacking.
There was a leak under the sink so every time we opened the water we had to ensure we didn’t step on water.
The place was very old and lots of areas damaged and stained. Shaved hair bits in the side of the bathtub. Chlorine stains on the walls that made it look like a murder had happened there. Raggedy and bad.
This looked like a $50/night hotel.
location
staff, no help, no towels
Love the location. The beach is across the street. Restaurants are walking distance as well.
They charge $15 for parking in a hotel you just rented a room with. The photos on booking.com are very misleading. Walls in the rooms have been patched up. Paint is peeling from the ceiling.
How close it was to the port
Nothing
Nothing
The rooms are filled with black mold, upon arriving the room was dirty, with feces still in the toilet, dirty towels from the last guest, a mysterious red stain on the lamp shade, bathtub was falling apart. Terrible place with even worse staff.
Nothing
Doors to rooms pen to outside.
Where to start…place is very run down and tired looking. Staff at check in was rude. We arrived around noon and were told we could not check in until 4pm without paying 40.00 extra. We asked if we could leave luggage and go get lunch and come back to check in. We were told to leave our luggage in lobby where bfast was served. Place was dirty, counters littered with bfast leftover crumbs and debris. We chose to pay and check in early as we were not comfortable leaving our luggage in open in lobby. The room we were assigned was in the back of the complex and we were told even though there was plenty of open rooms we could not have another room because ewe booked through Expedia. They said ALL rooms booked through a third party like Expedia were on the backside of the building. Shampoo, conditioner and lotion bottles in bath were all empty and they were unable to refill them. Free breakfast was a joke, pillows were very small lumpy and dirty. Don’t waste your time and money at this place.
Everything.
We can see the water.
First thing that was wrong was being charged $15.00 for parking for one night. I don't understand why I need to pay for parking on top of the cost of the room rate. It should be made very clear that there is additional fee that effects the total cost. So basically you're trapped to pay this because there's no time to locate another hotel.
Second, the floor is disgusting. It feels slimmy and dirty. The shower floor was painted in the past and is peeling now. The ceiling was leaking around the door after a pretty good rain. The rain water came under the door as well.
Third, the continental breakfast was a joke. I barely got coffee. Texas shape waffles were offered and the line was long. The hotel caterers to cruiser a lot. Pick a different hotel you not saving any money renting here.
The fact that the elevator was not working I had to go up stairs with 3 suitcases
I had to settle for small from a king to be able to not have to drag suitcases to the third floor
We were in room 228 which gave us a view of the gulf, which I had requested.
An elevator would have been a huge plus for this octogenarian when it came to getting my luggage to the room. No protein, no fruit, orange juice supply was questionable. Closet was stuffed with pillows, no blanket for drop in temperature, no room to hang clothes. Step in shower would have been better than tub.
Location
It was gross!! Very dirty, smelt terrible!
Some lights didn’t work. Towels smelt like vomit! Will never go back
Dirty Bathrooms, no toiletries towel were dirty
